curling and discoloration

It's been 2 weeks and 4 days. This morning when I looked at my plants, they all seemed to have a yellow/brown discoloration at the tip of their biggest leaves (the second pair). They almost look a little burnt or crispy. On top of discoloration, two of the plants have each a leave which is curling upwards.

They are growing under 2 32w fluoro's. They are about 2-3 inches away from the light, and it is not hot when I put my hand under the lights (so i can't see how they would be burnt).

I have not given them any nutes yet either. Perhaps its a Nitrogen deficiency?
I also transplanted them thursday (2 days ago), which may have caused some shock.

What should I do to fix this?

A simple transplant will not burn your leaves like that. So it has to be a soil issue, what type of soil are they in? Is there an npk ratio listed?

I got the soil from a nursery. It's an organic mix with no fertilizers or slow releasing ferts either. I looked up online and did some research on how to mix my own soil mix (I can't remember how much of each), but there's mostly part soil, perlite, vermeculite and very little peat moss. We transplanted them into the same soil mixture as they started to grow up in.

I didn't think it was the transplant that caused anything, i was just suggesting that it might have helped create the problem.

Thank you

Your soil sounds healthy. They look like they have the beggining signs of ph spotting. Do you have a way to test your ph? Here is a ph chart that may help you out.

They haven't had any problems occuring before this one. We haven't changed anything. Including water.

so what should i do. I dont have a Ph meter right now, are there any other possible solutions or is a ph meter a must?

use soil without nutes in it,and u got to get a ph meter
the soil does not have any nutrients in it. it is organic, and nothing else added.

I will move the lights up a bit. I will try and get a ph meter as soon as possible. will this cause the plants to die in a day or two if i dont have a chance to get a ph meter?
