D3monic's Stow N Grow TV

Thanks, here's a few more pics just for the hell of it... no much else to do I don't think except maybe making a scrog screen just incase I go that route and maybe a small fan pulling fresh air in at the other side of the bottom. I don't want too many more fans as the sound is already becoming noticeable. I figure I will just keep a regular house fan running in the same room as tv and no one will notice sound.

Hopefully very soon this bottom won't look so depressingly empty ;)

I just ordered a wireless temp and humidity probe so I'll have a good idea soon.

I just kicked the unit on for the day to see just how loud it gets. I'll leave it running all day and hit it with the lazer temp gun tonight. I'll also get that par meter so we can see what values it's throwing out.... Assuming par is even an accurate measurement with led

I know it hasn't been long but I took temps. anywhere under the light its 75 at the highest and 74.2 on the bottom plastic.

The back of the led unit itself is 92 and above it temps are again around 75. I'm hoping that once I add pots of soil an lights are running full time that I may be able to warm it up to 80. Will be good though since night temps will be ambient or less at 71-73
Not sure it's cool enough to bring out colors on purps but I hope.

Thanks!

Ok, well I put my seedlings in their humidity dome inside the TV. Lowered light to like 1.5" off the top of the dome. Turned off the exhaust system and left just the one 6" fan circulating air in the cabinet.

I just took temps after 8 hours.

Temp on surface of plastic dome is 81
inside one inch down 78 and down at plant height 76

Backside of LED fixture's surface was less than 100

I don't think over heating will be an issue as long as I keep the TV inside a house. If I move it out in the garage thats another story. I really need a house with a basement.
Bonus is the TV is 100% silent without the exhaust fan on. Hoping I will only need it when things start to get a lil smelly.

Im thinking I will start with two or three plants and see just how much space they will fill. ...I need to do research on these different growth methods, scrog, super cropped ect.. all a lil confusing.

Anyone? Heading to the hydro store real soon. I guess I'll just plan on painting with an epoxy and using two tone plastic to cover the screen area in the front.
Get a huge poster scene from a movie. For more stealth? Like from "Up In Smoke".

damn you got alot done in one weekend! and it looks great. how much height do you have in the upper slanted chamber because it looks like the light would work best if you put a screen in on top of the bottom rectangle section and did a scrog. also it would be awesome to see the haight light with a uv-b cfl on each side. the ppf-800 lights are supposed to be able to cover a 4x4 space since they use the 6w wide beam lenses so assuming you have enough headroom should cover the canopy, my lights were about 2 or 3 inches from the plants so i needed 2

Thanks, I was assuming from the start of the build that I may need to sub with a few cfl's because of the width of the box. The light illuminates everything nicely but not sure it will be enough for the outside edges. Would love to eventually score a second one so I can hang them side by side.

I was thinking the same spot if I scrog. but I was also thinking that recess gives me more room to loly pop if I did that route.... I got a lot of options I think with this build since its so tall for a stealth.

are you germing any seeds atm?
I got a couple bag seeds going in solo cups right now. Ones starting to veg, another is still growing its first leaves and I got a few more bag seed sprouting.

I just got a email saying my order from
Attitude "dispatched" so now the waiting game... I'll probably run two seeds from the order and what ever pops up from the bag seed. Bag seed can go on the outside dimmer edges and the lemon og kush an what eve I grow with it will go center under light

Well I was supposed to get the Par meter today but they blew me off... not much else to update at this point... just more research I guess. I added some additional window treatments to the livingroom window so when I open up the TV the window's don't light up pink >.< Cranked up the lights and no visible light outside Yay!..... Not that it would be out of norm for my house since it has always had bright ass lights in front of my windows from the reef tanks or even better when I had 10 large vivariums in there.

Here's how the room used to look

And now ;)

My largest seedling. I tried removing the humidity dome for a little bit to see how they did and one of the other seedlings wilted over so I watered it and placed the dome back on.. maybe it will rebound.

I also downloaded the Herb.IQ program. Very nice! I found it funny that if you piss the app off it will threaten to start deleting your records.
