All out of venison here.can't wait till Sept!
Lots of farms near me,the deer eat good and also taste good! I'll wack the first doe then hold out for a shooter buck or another doe late in the season..
I too prefer eating something I shot or caught.not a fan of meat that runs through a process of handlers..

I'd take a venison steak over the shitty beef at the local grocery any day. Cook it medium rare, maybe some herb soaked olive oil to drizzle over top. Best part when you get one, fresh heart and liver. Don't like hunters that leave that behind. Heart steaks with some terriyaki (spell check<) Or fresh liver and onions, mushrooms cooked in bacon grease. Coconut oil adds a nice sweet taste.
Hard to beat backstrap.
