Defoliate my 8 foot indoor plants. So many tiny buds 4 weeks into flower I hope they get bigger

I just do research this is the only forum I am a member at. Here is a side by side comparison I don't strip fan leaves until week 3-4 of flowering after the stretch is done.

Here read this and let me know your opinion. I remember back in the day they use to say you would die if you went over 50 mph don't doubt things because you haven't tried it. That's how this world gets misguided I could easily day 2+3=8 and I swear people would believe it because they read it on the Internet. Trial and error my friend I will keep you guys posted on how much bud the final harvest is

I have read every possible defoliation thread including that one years ago! Why? Because im an addict for experimental growing. That being said, i have defoliated a fair share this year with different methods and its not looking good as i have not found a single pheno that will take it! At this point all i can tell you is try it, and post your side by side.

Spl when do you start defoliating I wouldn't defoliate in the veg stage by any means. But for flowering it makes sense yes they are solar panels but I'm not chopping ever fan leaf and we will see the net weight at the end hoping to get 4,000 grams

In Flower only after stretch (around week 2/3) and week 5 or 6 depending on growth recovery speed. Do it to soon and the fucking thing wont even stretch. The problem im facing is most girls get stunted so easily when i take only 50% of the bottom and i grow water only organics, if they get nute burned im fucked if not enough nutes then i have to find my bottles!(still fucked) . I should probably mention im at 60+ watts per square ft. 10 minuits in there and my brown skin WILL turn red lol.

Your pictures suck. But I'm pretty sure I'm seeing a bunch of spindly, stretched plants. How many of these 8ft plants are you trying to grow with your 3600w? Because it looks like they are not getting enough.

There's probably a few reasons your buds are small, defoliating will most definitely not help to get them bigger.

What size pot are your trees in? I'm guessing that your root system isn't big enough to support producing monster buds on all your branches.

What's your lighting situation? You have 3600 watts, but you also have some big plants. How big is you grow area?

Is there good air circulation, is there direct airflow hitting those plants? Because the arms look thin and spindly and definitely unable to support large buds.

Wait! Your following a guy that defoliates in veg and the thread CLEARLY shows it! Yet, you don't follow what he's doing? You won't defoliate in veg? Your reasoning to reach the result your looking for is wrong if you short cut the method...

I have a close and long time friend who is a member of our growers "co-op". In fact I'm going up to see him today. He defoliates and I've seen this for years now.....Bald plants that are so defoliated it makes me cringe! He gets big yields of small rock hard buds. His yields are impressive weight wise.....I feel his quality is not near potential. I mean, I can't buy his meds for my shops. They sit there in their jars too long. People do try them but, in the end, they always come back to the big fat jar filling buds that simply look big. It's called bag appeal....

Now there is a guy on this site who has posted shots of massive cola's that he states are from "progressive" defoliation. He removes EVERYTHING but the mains....Looks real nice....I'd like to know more about that BUT, he uses several makers synthetic products and says he is organic because they are "made from" organic sources......No their not organic in the bottle - their made by Chelation. Chelation involves breaking chemical bonds with a Chelating agent, in our case it's usually EDTA (EDTA, DTPA, EDDHA). EDTA will keep the fertilizer components in a liquid form. Mostly the metals. VERY FEW synthetic Nutrient makers will list any of the above agents in their ingr. label! He and I don't get along - so we won't see him posting here how he does it.

I offer these as a counter point to the "theory" of defoliation so light gets to the buds and makes them bigger.

And this one is a newer follow-up.

A tip of the hat to Uncle Ben and Riddle for starting such wonderful threads!

If I feel the end bud is too small for the jar. I simply make concentrates from them....Lollypopping done in my ops are only the very short lower branching that simply takes away from the rest of the plant.....SOME very limited tiny bud site removal on inner branch's (the lowest) at the end of the stretch and that's it for this guy!

Good Luck berries and keep the thread going with pics so we can see what happens!

I'm not sure why people come on here to start arguments I'm simply a new grower experimenting all my options and actually my girls are in 18 gallon jugs and my stem on my biggest plant is 7 inches thick so what were you saying again? I defoliate about 12 days ago and my girls are actually looking phenomenal I WILL post pictures tonight

I hope your day gets better I've never understood why people feel the need to talk to others like how you are doing. Anyway. I defoliated my plants in this flower because I wanted to experiment yes this defeats the purpose of defoliation by modern techniques. So I will be testing 3 different ways on how I choose. Not by your standards Gary or anyone else's on this forum. With that said I will be posting the results over this next year I will not be like everyone else that never properly date and record their information to help better the knowledge of us fellow growers. Stay tuned

Also I will show an article of how pruning many various types of vegetative growth helps the quantity now the quality I have no idea until I get further more exclusive research just as the content of the bud
