So the idea presented in this clip behind the ideological switch in the south between 1956 and 1964 isn't the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that outlawed discrimination, it's LBJ's brilliant idea to start giving handouts to black people so they vote democratic instead of republican.. Yeah, that's not racist..

The fact is that northern liberals, both democratic and republican voted in support of it, and southern conservatives, both democratic and republican voted against it. Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out why; liberal ideals promote freedom, conservative ideals restrict it;
