DIY with Quantum Boards

@Stephenj37826 and I have been thinking of a board that can use the 185H-C1400 and 240-C1750 drivers. Would make it easier for people with 3590 setups to upgrade to QB and use the same driver.
If we had a 36V board then you will have a 1:1 replacement for 3590 on same driver.
We think a 70V board or Dual channel 36 V be better, then each board can replace 2x 3590 on same driver.
I have a ton of 185-c700b drivers, that sounds like an interesting option.

Quantum Gardens-

1. 260w 3000k rig .... 12/12 flip cycle ( about a week or so ) plant pubes starting. I
haven't built the other half of it yet ... Wifey got a "list for hubby " to do first ..Dammit

The cool thing about quantums is the fact you " really don't need " large watt driven rigs to grow big healthy plants. Not like the HID boys with there 400 / 600 / 1000W balls to the wall setups ... It's been pretty hot west and these rigs are running without a sweat ... Ambient temps are about 85-88° but NONE of my plants get stressed. The SLATE heatsinks are killing it for passive setups.

This is a gallon size HEMPY ( 100% perlite ) bucket drain to waste - stupid simple.
Bucket is from 99¢ store ( kids beach pail ) wrapped in duct tape to darken root zone .....
SCIENCE ! .... Lol.

DYNAGRO Nutes ( 6.0 tap water )

She is greener than Kim Kardashian's teeth and a happy little shit. She has blew up much more than expected and am looking forward to her moving to flower. Also that 3 sided grow space probably plays into it to.

2. 4 panel Quantum with COB rig ( 3500k ) - 12/12

Tangerine dream - Week 2 going to week 3 on Monday
12/12 ( soil grow Lowe's) with Dr. Earth Nutes / MaxiBloom ( GH )
Tap water 6.5

Power : 320W total with COBs ( 260 and 60 citizen ) - I can LEVEL UP but like the plants I get under 400 ... Some of you that remember my lowly SINGLE quantum board grow with a 50w driver will know it grew nice plants too , so large scale WATT MONSTERS are not what makes these boards rock. To me there sweet spot is between 50-60 w per board.
At least for me........

A Rif Mountain female. An interesting trait, apparently found also in some landrace Afghani strains, is crinkled or twisted leaf tips. The crinkle looks like the tip is folded down, the twist to the left or right can be seen in this pick also, but the crinkle is the most unusual trait. Having nice, healthy plants grown under COB and QB light, helps in the observation of plant traits.

Will the QB 120 be enough for veg at 42 watts? Single cab, 30"by 30". How far can I hang it for optimal coverage/PAR?

I will buy one but I just need to be assured it could veg a couple lil guys till 12" in that space? Is that doable?

Us early LED adopters noticed that Canna plants want more Cal/Mag under LEDs.
I notice it with my chemdawg 4 cant give her enought cal mag
Every driver I own is a meanwell, I never buy generic crap when it comes to electronics(although I'm thinking of using crappy star diodes for a 660nm and 730nm booster bar). But if you notice, the LP series even for Meanwell has no ground cord going to the driver for the AC side, I'm looking at the LPC-60-1750, the efficiency is 86%.

Why do the smaller drivers never have a ground cord? Are they not needed? My AC plug would only have the double prong correct? Whats the safety concern there? I'm used to cobs so the larger drivers always have a ground plug. Thinking of having this a 30by30" just for small veggie seedlings.

Would that be good @robincnn @Stephenj37826[/QUOTE
I always ground my casings and fixtures, all the meanwell drivers have an internal ground to there casing if there is no external one

I've been using LED grow lights for 4 years now. I've never had a cal mag problem. Maybe because I use RO water with 120-150 ppms of cal/mag per gallon of water from day one. I see some people putting in ridiculous amounts of cal/mag, that only makes it worse. I'm thinking some people are mistaking other problems for a cal/mag issue.

Its more just that strain or cut of chem i have cause my samurai, haze and diesel strains have no problems. Maybe my point was cant make every plant happy, not just load them full of nutes if there deficiant in them but for me one leaf can look bad and ill think there is a problem and probably over manage it. Guess in all it my own insecurities coming out in the plant. Man im getting real deep your like my therapist pop22 lol

If my driver ever gets here we'll see!
Dude, I'm such an impulse buyer and the wait is killing me, yesterday was payday and I ordered a 6" aluminum heatsink, (5) 730nm Cree X-PG diodes, and a little meanwell LPC-20-350 to run a Far Red booster. Hopefully that works, the driver says it works at 9v-48 but the PDF says it can run 3 to 48v. Hoping that's the case, since the diodes run at 1.7-2v I don't think the minimum current would produce enough voltage at 350mA. We shall see, it'll be about 10 years before I get this shit from China lol

In any case, please let me know, I already ordered the LPC-60-1750 for the QB120 from arrow (is that where you got yours from, Expedited shipping my ass!)

I'm surprised NGL doesn't have any specs on the board, I was gonna buy it last night at like 1 AM lol, but then I made that post to ask if it was good enough to veg, waiting on responses.

Peace

Biocozyme is the shit way cheaper and works as good if not better. Original enzyme product. Growmore is the shit. Check out their Mendocino avalanche and jumpstart. Great products at a good price
