GREEN CRACK - wk 7
Bud was " snipped ( 1/8" topped ) 2 weeks ago as a bud building experiment .
AKA BACK BUILDING BUDS - I was lurking a thread on this and Guinea pigged my plants ....... Now it looks pissed ....
To me , I guess you gain girth .... Lol

Hey guys looking for some advice from other quantum board growers. Was i wrong for trying to veg under these so early on? I have 2x plants in a 4x4 under 2x qb 260s 3000k. The boards are turned all the way down. Growing in coco coir so i water every day with quater strength nute soloution. I know most people say no nutes this early but im following Micks K.I.S.S. method for first time growers that was posted over on grasscity.com and the instructions call for 1/4 strength as soon as they sprout.

This is week 3 day 1 what did i do wrong. Are the boards burning up my plants or is this another deficiency. Maybe i underwatered or over watered? Whatever the case im on day 2 of flushing with about 400ml per plant and still no positive changes.
  1. Info on my set up:Temps are high 70s to 84 degress. I start trying to cool the tent around 84.

Using plain tap water for my quater strength nute soloution (maxibloom)phd to 6.0.

Growing under 2x quantum boards 260 turned all the way down raised as high as they can go. These lights are pretty powerful. I probally should be veging under cfls still but my set up was horrible and plants were getting very stretchy under them.

Humidity has been pretty low but as of yesterday i figured a way to get it higher so we are at about 55-60% now.

Other than that im not sure what ive done wrong. Let me know what you guys think.

Did i over or under water?
    Maybe heat stress?
    Or another deficiency perhaps ?

I run clones and use full strength nutes from the day I transplant till flush and I don't dim my lights at all the room won't stay hot enough for me with the lights dimmed

CFL's would be better IMHO for sprouts. even turned down, I think the QB's are strong not to mention after about 60% I think they change spectrum away from blue.

I don't have to feed my sprouts for weeks, and water only when needed.

here is a trick I learned: once the sprouts are ready to move, about 2-3 weeks.

pre-load the pro-mix(whatever) with light nuets. this is enough feeding to last month+, look at my new veg, I have not feed them once, well besides pre-loading the pro-mix.

by pre-loading you get a nice even mix, and IMHO in my mind at least helpss the roots grow out, as it needs more nuets.

or try a soil mix next time, so you don't have to worry about feeding them just water once or twice a week.

i run my spouts under amazon burple led panels i picked up for $25. After ripping out the cheap drivers, i run meanwells in them now. They seem to do a good job.

My seeds start off in rock wool cubes sitting in NFT channels with light nuts. After lots of trial an error, i found this to be the most fool proof method. I basicly just run the lights full time, and don't touch anything. My nft channels do all the work. When they are ready for transplant, i move them into bato buckets running coco.

Bump up the nutes. Top growth looks better than bottom growth. What is your media mixture? Maxi Bloom for veg? Never heard of that. Also need to put a fan on them. Make the stock much thicker. Maxi Bloom doesn't seem to have enough N for veg. What do I know lol. I have always went with recommend dosage and schedule maybe running just a little in the mean side but not much. I always try to walk to the tight rope. Bump up ppm each successive run until I get tip yellowing and lock it down. Coco is inert. You really need to feed that plant as if you don't it won't have anything to feed from. What ppm you pouring in currently?

You need to be adding CalMag too. CalMag and Maxibloom work great together.

Maxibloom for veg is basically the Lucas Formula. I do it and it works great. Maxibloom and Calmag from start to finish.

Curious: how much calmag do you add, and do you give it every watering? On average, I mean, accounting for different strains' unique requirements. I've settled in (for the time being) at 8ml GO CaMg+ per gallon, every watering. The calmag needs were what really took me by surprise when I switched to LED.

I use Botanicare brand CalMag+ The label recommends 5 ml per gallon but I use 3ml per gallon and they do well. I grow hydro so they get it every watering.

Amazon prime option is for 2 x QB 288 3000K boards.
AWESOME!
Will the slates and other pieces start to become available or only the boards. Like this !!\

Actually if you order and they are sold out on amazon will this be a way to pay for them and be on back order till they get more in so we don't have to gamble on the drop times ?
