Be pretty funny if a few thousand of those little things came buzzing in on the front lawn.

But seriously, how could they stop this? If you didn't want it back, be pretty easy to fly one in. Once it's in the air, could come from anywhere.

I say attach water balloons, make a game out of it.

And I'm assuming they wouldn't shoot at it, so a butterfly net maybe? Could make for some great entertainment.

"Today the WH was buzzed by another low flying quad copter. No one was seriously injured, but one SS agent was water ballooned, while another shit themselves from excessive laughter. FF was secured onto AF1 and circled Washington for half the day just to make sure."
How much overtime do you think the SS burned up "investigating" this drone incident?....they will charge him with a $25,000 bill for his fun day of drone flying.....

As we amp up the militarization of our police, we'll see more and more drones on US soil, especially those border states.

First citizen to shoot one down will be a hero and arrested.

Several eastern Colorado counties have enacted open season laws on drones. They're considered unenforceable, but the gesture stands.

Krav Maga is a fighting form/philosophy that is brutally efficient and primitive at the same time.

It deals with recognizing and neutralizing a threat as quickly and efficiently as possible. It teaches one to utilize their environmentto their aadvantage.

It was developed for the Israeli military and has spread not only to other countries but also has been transformed into a fitness/civilian self-defense lifestyle.

That's badass. I'm gonna go find someone who can reach me. I've taken martial arts before but it was always too much talk and not enough learning how to stomp shit.

LOL that was me!

My sister is a 3rd degree black belt and talked me into joining. I kept wondering when do I get to break shit?

I was 17, she was 25 and while there I had to call her "master". I lasted a month.

I imagine the WH has a fairly decent network of transceivers at their disposal...Fill the air with white-noise and PLOP! It'll be the greatest Yard-sale for DIY electronics ever !
At least, that's my hypothesis. I find it difficult to believe they don't have some old 1950s tube device in the basement of the WH for just such purposes. Probably beside Obama's micro-brewery.

I doubt filling the air with noise would do much to a frequency hopping 2.4ghz spread spectrum signal. Its not anything like the old 72mhz days of radio control. The Receiver of the DJI Phantom 2 (which is what that drone is) has to see a special identifier for it to even look at the signal, it would ignore every signal that didn't have that identifier. It also switches the signal hundreds of times per second. Its ability to be extremely hard to intercept and jam are the reasons why the military has been using Spread Spectrum for all these years.

Most likely a discharged battery is to blame, mechanical failure or possibly losing the signal due to distance. The 2.4ghz SS signals of low power R/C equipment are good for up to 6 miles at LOS, less if amongst a bunch of trees or very tall buildings, so I lean more towards power loss. There are also mechanical difficulties that could have gone wrong. Upon signal loss the aircraft normally would return to home by use of GPS, this didn't happen so I assume some other trouble. Obviously the drone impacted hard enough to break the frame, so I also assume a rapid descent, which also would only happen with a low battery or a mechanical failure.

Not saying it could not be jammed, but then radio communication would be altered in the vicinity, which I know cell phones work at the WH, so hat leads me to believe that there is no signal jamming.

Perhaps Obama will request a large clear acrylic bubble to be placed around the WH?
