if you make a nutrient solution you can just dip the whole plant in it, you dont even need roots these days the plant will just soak up the nutes.

no one needs to be getting upset and name calling on here, those are some nice looking plants, lets all just learn from this. trim off the roots when growing an auto, and use extra high N miracle grow and everything will be fine.

Lol. No the ones that I trimmed are photo plants. I went with a new peat mix and it was wrecking pH.

I trimmed them so they didn't need as big root mass and remixed the soil with a bag of stuff that helps buffer pH and a little more pellet lime.

I mix my own soil. PH is normally buffered in organics. Decaying organic matter produces ions that buffer pH.

For the record, I never called the op a name. I understand that op will not use miracle grow again.

The op strikes me as the type of person that nothing is thier fault.

The op blamed the soil without even caring to learn why it happened. How can a person become a better grower lime that?

I don't want the op to leave. I would like them to stay. If this were a real life situation, I would shake hands and move on.

Trimming auto roots would hurt it. The tap root is the flowering mechanism. Bigger pot and roots, bigger fruit. You know why high N is good for autos? It extends thier veg period and allows them to grow bigger.

I actually have found recently that I like Dr. Earth's ferts more, though. I've been using HomeGrown for Veg and Flower Girl for flower, omitting Nature's Care. I just use Nature's Care potting mix for its neutrality, availability, and soillessness.

Does that make you feel better, @greasemonkeymann?
Hmmm.. not sure how to interpret that exactly..
if it was meant in a genuine manner, than yes, I do feel better.
Now if you were being asinine?
well.. since i'm an optimist i'll just believe it was genuine.

I just want to urge you to do more research on Monsanto.
My primary complaint was that you were advising others to use it.
Everyone needs to stop giving them money.
They are evil.

@In Shape Vet what branch you serve?

Lot of veterans here like olive drab and myself. I'm a disabled vet.

Anyways, my statement about blind leading blind was accurate.

Why spend so much on bottled nutrients? They are all made from the same salts. They are all watered down and over priced. $20 or less will buy a dynagro sample kit with a quart each of protekt and foilage pro, with pints of a few other products. That is a good product and affordable.

All these cannabis specific nutes are a gimmick. They don't require magic nutrients or unicorn farts to grow.

Basic horticulture.

Those high dollar, cannabis specific nutrient companies prey on the uninformed and new growers.

Mixing your own salts is way cheaper and there is a thread here how to make the leading formulas from cannabis nugs companies.
