We've been waiting for new input!!

Did you folks see where Obama is taking away charitable donations deductions? F the poor?

CAN YOU IMAGINE IF BUSH HAD SAID THIS???

No, there's no double standard in play.

He isn't taking away charitable donations, those are supposed to be from the heart. When you place them on tax deductible status, you are basically eliminating the charity. Instead, he is planning on using that money for schools and education and job creation, what a concept, trickle up,~LOL~.

trickle waste you mean... gathering of power you mean. ending the republic is what you mean.

He is trying to destroy private charities.... one of the most EFFICIENT methods of helping the NEEDY. It's not funny at all.

Never said it was funny. Private charities as they exist now are nothing but a tax dodge. If you want true charity then give from the heart, not to get a tax deduction. BTW private charities don't even scratch the surface of the needy. If it weren't for food stamps and welfare, there would be hundreds of thousands of homeless starving children. Open your eyes man, pull your head out.

The reason why the deductions are in place is so that people with extra funds at their disposal (like me:lol:) will GIVE. That is about to end. that is a crime!!

So give. Are you only doing it for the deductions? If so then it really isn't charity, is it. What it is, is the government (That you hate) is taking the money up front and using it to make some other peoples lifes better, like food, lodging and work. I realize that you don't see it that way and here's a statistic you might want to look up. How much on a percentage basis, of the money given to private charities, actually gets to the people it's intended for, somewhere around 40% is the average. Some are even less. Not many charity organizations can return 70-80% to the recipients. Some, if not most, charity organizations are strictly for the benefit of the greedy administrators, private jets, huge expense accounts, mansions, all are not unusual, A few good ones exist, Red Cross comes to mind.

No, Med, it's still charity, because its voluntary.

If it was forced (like through higher taxes) then it's not Charity because it's not voluntary.

Besides, Charities, like Government are the biggest scam on the planet. Most of the money they receive is spent trying to raise even more money instead of doing the goals that they push.

There might be the rare charity (one's with shit loads of stock that generate sufficient dividend income to fund them) that do not have to rely upon wasting massive amounts of money advertising to get even more money to waste on advertising, so they might, in several millennia actually feel like they have enough money to do what they are supposed to be supposedly doing.

NPO, there is no such thing as a Non-Profit Organization, all the NPOs are doing is defining their Profit as being in a different form, whether its helping the poor, the sick, the disabled, or researching a cure for cancer. The 903C Corporation is a myth with a legal existence.

I always wonder about "non-profit" charities, like "feed the children" 80 cents of every dollar goes to feed a child, well I'd like to know where the other 20 cents of every dollar ends up. 1/5 of the money doesn't reach the children.

I imagine, someone, somewhere is sitting pretty on money that should have went to children.

True miss, and when I GIVE AWAY my money I always research their ratio of administrative costs.... there are tons of charities that only take a minimal % (some are as little as 10) for operations, the rest goes to the NEEDY. Those are the only charities I will support.

I like many in my economic position will now NOT contribute, since incentives have been taken away. The poor will suffer at the hands of Obama.

Again I will reiterate, can you just imagine if Bush had announced this?! The left would have HOWLED... now "oh, it's cool". One of the reasons why I cannot follow the left on economics....they have no principles. None.

You want to hear something shitty, my daughter works at a preschool for the low income and some clothes were donated for the kids and she had to fight off the other employees who wanted to glean the best clothes for their own kids.

She took the clothes from them and sorted through them and put post its on which kids the clothes were being given to.

Fucking employees wanting to steal the donated clothes, WTF  I'm glad she stood her ground. That makes me so proud as a parent.

Sounds like the government all right.

Magnify that and you have the various branches fighting over tax dollars.
