Ebb n flow question, rockwool needed?

Hey everyone, long time reader here finishing up my 2nd grow in soil, and I want to switch to ebb n flow or top feed drip in trays with pots filled with hydroton. My question is that I use an aeroponic cloner to clone with, so the plants have no medium other than maybe a small net pot with neoprene plugs at the base, can I put freshly rooted plants straight into hydroton? Or is a secondary medium needed for added support?

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance

yes i do the same thing.. i use 6 inch rock wool cubes. i stick my fingers in the cubes to make the holes biggenough to fit the roots in. then i rip off a corner of the cube and stuff in the hole to support the plant. after that stick i bamboo stake in the cube right behind the stem ( try not to destroy your beautiful roots) and loosly tie or secure the plant to the stake ( just to hepl it stand up) i use a loose zip tie but i have gotten them too tight before and when they get growing huge the stem swells around the zip tie.. did that help??
