I respect your opinion, but if you checked out the site and seen what I am offering you would take a second and realize that you might not be totally correct.

Sure, there are hundreds if not thousands of information posts and threads here, but lets be honest. Who really wants to sit for hours/days/weeks reading and reading thread after thread? Eventually, you are going to get tired and grow frustrated.

I have an alternate way of learning. In ONE weekend, you can learn everything that is all over the internet, through graphs, charts, and an innovative class experience. This course appeals to all types of learners, whether it be audio, visual or hands on. We let students handle equipment, show how they are properly operated and in addition, they have the opportunity to interact with professionals such as lawyers/electricians and accountants.

Plus, one student in each class, gets a FREE 25 site clone machine worth $250 dollars. No other class offers as much as we do for the price that we do. If you already know everything there is, good for you. You took the weeks and months to comb every bit of useful information and now you are better for it. I am just offering the same thing, but condensed in a weekend course.

Thanks for you time.

well put! i couldnt have said it better.

it makes sense, i have spent hundreds of hours reading and probably alot of disabled and/or elderly wouldnt want to do that.

fwiw, instead of one free cloner you should do like 5 pack of seeds for all or 5 clones, then they all win;)

I checked out what you are offering and all you are offering is a way to line your pockets. You should be ashamed. $300 for the same information you can find free anywhere. It's not like you have a 3 month course where people actual grow a plant, it's 2 days, so $150 a day, $21.43 an hour per person. On your homepage you claim "The lowest priced class in all of Michigan!" yet soon as you click on "Why Us?" even with your discount you are more expensive that one you are comparing to.

So let's look at how much money you are looking to make. Let's assume you find 10 suckers for each of your 7 listed classes. That's $21,000, wait let's take in account the "free $250 cloner", seeing as you bulk bought them let's call them $200 each. So we are now at $19,600, you list 3 names on your site, so let's split it up evenly $6533.33 each for 98 hours of work over 7 weekends, or $66.66 an hour.

Over 66 dollars an hour to teach people basic free information. Your first day outline can be covered by with a copy of The Union and the rest could fit on 1 piece of paper. The second day can be covered by reading guides on any forum.

We looked at the other classes and molded our class so that we offer the best value. If you see other classes that offer the "same" information(medgrowmi, robertgreene etc..) they charge $399 for a weekend course, with NO discount for patients or caregivers. They also don't offer the same amount of lecture time or a free giveaway(which we dont get in 'bulk'). Also, who wants to take a class for 3 months when you can learn the basic fundamentals in 2 days?

For someone who is serious about this program and wants to one day have 5 patients and 60 plants, a 300 dollar investment will be recouped once you walk out the door, because the knowledge that you gain from the class will provide you with a stable foundation to get started with 12 plants or 60 plants. One light with ballast and all costs $320. You have to look at this on a larger scale i think.

You totally ignored my first reply. You do not know my expenses nor have you correctly identified what I am offering. You are projecting thousands of dollars of profits without any backing for it. You sure you don't work for GM?( I kid, I kid.)

Instead of tearing down my class, maybe you should see why its better than the other ones, majority of which are people from California coming here to take advantage of the new law. Their class fees have to take into account, room and board along with food and additional personal expenses, which we do not have to factor in our price.

Being Michigan Caregivers, we are and continue to be present in our community. We founded the Auburn Hills CC in late 2009, which we have been offering free advice and consultations to all people interested. You can call us selfish, but we have put in our time, and now we would like to share the knowledge on a larger scale.

Like I said in the previous posts, looking through all these threads and posts is time consuming, and some patients/caregivers rather take the time and invest in something that they are serious in, rather than comb through thousands of posts. For both of us, it might seem like all you have to do is read, thats because we already know it, but when you get down to how much has to be read and calculated, explained etc... its ALOT of material. I'm sure we can at least agree on that.

That's all fine and dandy. But you are a for profit business using message boards for free advertising (spamming).

You say "people from California coming here to take advantage of the new law. Their class fees have to take into account, room and board along with food and additional personal expenses, which we do not have to factor in our price." Yet your price is in the same range as theirs, even with your "discount" you are more expensive than one.

You say I'm off base on the services you are offering and the profit you will make, but I got it all directly from your website.

You can do whatever you want, but don't act as though you are providing a service to the community out of the goodness of your heart when you charging $300 for a 2 day class full of information that is freely available at the vary place you are doing your free advertising on.

I think Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible would probably be pretty sufficient too.
$19.77 on amazon and I'm sure it covers what you have to say.
Plus ya got a book to always look back on, since learning everything needed to know in 2 days is simply impossible.

Most classes charge 100 MORE than GrowinginMichigan.com. GrowinginMichigan.com will feature special guests; a lawyer, electrician an possibly an accountant as well that can advise our students in grow room installation; declaring income on taxes and even how to stay within your legal limits; FREE of charge, which most classes do not offer.

You seem to be projecting these socialist feelings of yours onto me. I never said I was doing this 'out of the kindness of my heart', but by offering this class I am putting patients and caregivers on the correct path to growing medical marijuana for themselves or others in just one weekend.

If you look at this another way, this class is actually creating jobs and opportunities in an economy that desperately needs it. Anyone that is interesting in picking up a hobby to a professional caregiver to an ailing patient can attend the class and be able to successfully have a harvest from start to finish.

I'm glad that you are so generous in your community. Like I said, along with a few others, I run the Auburn Hills Compassion Club. We would love for you to come down and have a presentation on everything there is to know about medical marijuana.

You let me know which Thursday you can pick and I will advertise it accordingly.

i agree-

learning to be a good gardener is not, nor has ever been for sale, and certainly couldn't be had in two days even if it was

Couldn't of said it better myself. You guys would probably make more $ with a comedy club. Sorry to be rude, but 2 days , really??? What if one of your students is a Alzheimer patient, even if not who do you really expect to retain all of the info you plan to offer. If someone has a? say at 2 in the morning do intend to be at their disposal, or have a help line, offer free refresher course. So anyone only needs 2 days or does just anyone need the fee. Anybody can put their time in, doesn't automatically give them entitlement to peoples money. 2 days?? Wow must be super duper comprehensive! Also, does seem to be like spamming to me, guess the free site is good enough for free adverts huh? Would you agree that somethings can't be taught, they have to be learned?

We thought about making it weekly but then we would have to charge more since we would need to use the facilities longer. The weekend is a good since people work doing the week.

If you pay attention and take proper notes then you should be ok. Its just like regular academia; pay attention and take notes. We will be distributing a mini-booklet as well with all of the important growing information so that the student can look back if they are unsure of something.

My class will give a person a good understanding of(to steal a certain users phrase) what makes a plant tick. I believe that it can be fit in a weekend class, as many other classes offer the same weekend course. However, they are not as comprehensive as ours, nor are they priced as fair as us.

Are you upset that I am using the forums to advertise my class? I have tried to get in touch with the media but they have been of no use. If I don't spread the word of the classes, who will?

To address your final point, I do think that some things cant be taught. However, in order to learn certain things, you have to have a background or foundation on which to build. This is what my class provides. A solid foundation, in which anyone can learn in one weekend, and be able to put it to good use whether they want to start a small business or care for a friend or family member.

Dude no matter how you want to defend yourself your still an ass charging 300 dollars for a 2 day class. It would be cheaper to go to Harvard or M.I.T for 2 days asshole.

I'm glad you joined the site just to rip on my class, but I do not know how you got Harvard and M.I.T. into this picture. I respectfully disagree, but I see that you might be more against the notion of higher education(rather paying for it)than my class in general.

I do not need to defend my class. It speaks for itself. The amount of material, hands on time, and the ability to talk with professionals that can help you in the legal/electric/accounting field that I am offering is currently unmatched by any other class. In that respect, I am correct.

You mention Harvard and M.I.T. Those schools you need to get accepted first and THEN pay 40k a year. And I am currently unaware of classes that are taught by Harvard/M.I.T. professors in the field of medical marijuana and that will only charge 300 for approx 14 hours of instruction. That's the equivalent of about a weeks classes at their institution, and I am pretty sure that they are making more than $300..lol. However, this is neither here nor there since I am not a Harvard/M.I.T grad.

For everyone else, visit GrowinginMichigan.com for more info and about our FREE weekly giveaway.

I'm sure all of you that are flaming the class for over inflated prices
were just as big a dicks to all your doctors that signed off on your cards
for what they charged you.
And the guy you buy clones from, and the dealers we all bought weed from
in the past, and the hydro store for what they charge for nutrients.
And the seed banks...
How dare someone make money off the medical marijuana industry
in a different way, a way opened up in part by the very laws we
fought together to pass.
Sometimes i hate us fucking potheads, er,.. patients.

Bottom line: You cannot possibly even begin to scratch the surface on what needs to be learned in 2 days. Perhaps a 3 month, hands on class where "students" are able to take part in cloning, vegetative growth, flowering, harvesting, curing ........... some practical experience. Not a 2 day blab-fest where people will retain next to nothing, and discover that they still don't have a clue on what to do when they decide to get started. These "students" would be better off investing that $300 in some equipment, and purchasing a book or two that will essentially reiterate what you guys will be telling them.
