Bill O'Reilly, Faux News personality, who prolly drinks a quart of Scotch every day is an outspoken enemy of the cannbis culture. Here is an excerpt from a MPP (Marijuana Policy Project) newsletter about his recent anti-marijuana rant... I'll also post up a link to the full article including access to video of this crap. Warning viewer discretion advised... this shit may make you want to hurl. The prick is clearly still trying to reassure his loyal, white haired, fascist viewers that the Reefer Madness propaganda that he ingested in his formative yars is indeed the true story about weed. Bill has two ghoolish bitches on his show as co-hosts who cite some pure bullshit "facts" about the harmfull effects of marijuana...

"On his wonderfully fair and balanced show on Thursday, Bill O’Reilly was nice enough to highlight our Top 50 Most Influential Marijuana Users list. He then started on a long rant, joined by his co-hosts, about the evils and deadly health risks associated with using marijuana. Apparently, these folks didn’t quite get the message...."

I joined Marijuana Policy Project (for free) and value the information that they send me. We need to get political to defend our personal rights of liberty. Speak out, vote accordingly... let's end this bullshit hypocracy in our lifetime.

It will never end. It is an industry on both sides. Courts, prosecutors, cops, prisons. Then there are the jobs - guards, bailiffs, companies making all the cop goodies. Then the money for tons of private prisons and for new public prisons. Then probation and parole officers, drug testing companies that cruise on pot tests since everything else is cleared so quickly while cannabis is not.

No, it is an industry with every financial reason to keep it illegal. Keep growing.

While we're listing stakeholders who are excited about keeping cannabis illegal, let's not ignore some groups that may not immediately come to mind...
Medical Marijuana dispensaries/legal grow opps, stereotypical (street) drug dealers, wealthy and violently powerful Mexican drug lords. Prohibiton has it's supporters on both sides of the cannabis equation. The oppressed folks are the millions who just want to grow a little, smoke a little and be left the fuck alone to do as they please without harming anyone.

I contributed some money to the "Yes on 64" Colorado ballot initiative to legalize and regulate marijuana like alcohol... got an interesting email from them recently that got me thinking... "exactly WHO is keeping this wonderful plant illegal"... surprisingly to me it isn't law enforcement! see below...

Tim,One of the most important reasons we need to support Amendment 64 is to re-direct our law enforcement resources away from marijuana offenses and toward fighting violent crime. Law enforcement recognize that their time and effort can be better spent elsewhere.
Today, we're proud to announce the support of cops, prosecutors, and other members of the law enforcement community who support Amendment 64 and regulating marijuana like alcohol. This also includes the Blacks in Law Enforcement of America and the National Latino Officers Association.
Please take a moment right now to read their letter in support of Amendment 64, share it on Facebook, and post it on Twitter.
The reasons for law enforcement to support sensible marijuana reform are numerous.
In addition to putting our limited law enforcement resources to better use, Amendment 64 will make our streets safer by cutting off funding to violent gangs who generate money from marijuana sales. Amendment 64 will protect the lives of law enforcement members who are currently forced to enforce these ineffective laws. And Amendment 64 will reduce marijuana access to kids, by putting it behind the counter, where clerks can check for identification.
Members of law enforcement put their lives on the line each and every day to protect our communities. Now, it's time to stand with them by doing everything we can to support Amendment 64.
Thanks for all that you do,

Betty Aldworth
Advocacy Director, Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol

What I don't understand is, why many other people do not realize this and continue wanting to feed the giant. Do they not see that government is simply getting too damn big?

It's gone private, size no longer matters, and besides, it's profitable. All we need now is more criminals.

This is what I was talking about, this kind of thinking only feeds the giant!
Of course it matters how big government gets. Just because the prison system has some privatization, the federal government is still the one who funds it with tax payers money, it's a perpetual monstrosity. Think my friend, think!

Republicans support pharmaceutical companies and private prison contractors. By you supporting republicans you also support this.

You all make good points. O'Reilly is an entertaining moron.

If you are serious about the problems you talk about then you need to abandon the Republican and Democrat parties. My personal choice for president is Gary Johnson but any third party candidate is preferable to the big two.

The less government gets in tax dollars, the smaller government becomes, hard to argue that point!
But you go ahead and feed the giant and let government swell to the point it consumes us all, rotsa ruk.

Republicans support pharmaceutical companies and private prison contractors. By you supporting republicans you also support this.
I support pharmaceutical companies as well but that has nothing to do with what we are talking about.
Private prison contractors are funded by government, grow the government and you grow the private prison contractors, what part of this are you not getting?

The three party system keeps Harper in control of Canada and it is a complete disaster down here, so I don't share in your hopes for a solution to this false dichotomy. I agree with the rest though, I think people need to form grassroots movements to steer their candidates toward their goals.

Again, I do agree with your sentiment that currently, we have little choice.
