you can get the Y splitters at lowes for like 1 dollar and some change hahah. I wish more people would post shit on my shit lol. Also as far as CFLs go. I think Vegging with them is awesome. but its so mathmatically obvious that HPS is gonna be what you need for flowering.
true that, hps is def. the way to go when it comes to flowering.. Im going to mix spectrums and have 400 watts of hps red/orange and then 400 m.h. blue...:blsmoke:

WOO! Temporary fix until I can go to my local Homo Depot!

Picture:
1.) Focused 3 lights (2 42w 27k, 1 27w 65k = 6950 lum) on 1 plant (bigger of the two) and turned my lighting cycle back to 18/6. That's the fan at the top of the picture.

2.) Threw a white towel over a broom handle to create a makeshift curtain for now.

3.) Put the 2 seedlings and another plant under a 27w 65k to hold them over til tomrrow.

4.) The plant as it stands now (reference pic, because it's going to expand, hopefully!)

Future plans:
1.) Update all light fixtures to Y splitters.

2.) 3 27w 6500ks + 1 42w 27k on the main plant, and another 4 lights (same setup) on all of the seedlings.

3.) Once the seedlings develop more (read: I get more money), each seedling will get it's own 2 lights.

If you have any other suggestions, you know I'm all ears!

noticed a definite growth in size, but also yellowing of the leaves... does this look like nitro deficency? i'm not using any nutrients, but the soil i am using is .21-.07-.14

Update.

Bought 4 more lights + Y splitters. Each plant has 3 27w 6500k, and 1 42w 2700k, bringing each plant to ~7850 lumens a piece. pictures later tonight.

Temporary set up.

Going garage sale hunting for something better to grow in, some kind of cabinet or something enclosed to help keep light contained.

too bright to get a good picture! 8-) good sign?

I can already tell this plant is getting thicker, and it had a brown papery husk on it's stem, which is now shedded and the new green stem is in full effect! finally got the water right methinks.

Soil looked 95% dried out yesterday, so I planned on watering today. When I walked in, i noticed the little one had it's leaves pointing up (sign of underwatering?). picture 1 is how they looked right when I walked in. I pulled the leaves down and I saw what looked like a burn mark on one of the leaves? pic 2, if anyone can diagnose it? Same thing happened to the bigger plant (pic 3) and I also think it's showing preflowers? (pic 4)
