Yea, exactly like mine, for some reason all mine had trouble shedding the seeds, and they looked like that, jus give her some time, she will open up, and make sure you get that label glued on too,

Had to preform some seedling surgery again last night, the seed I planted a few days ago was growing at a 90 degree angle and part of the taproot weaved its way into a sponge cavity so I had to get some tweezers and carefully pull it out (holding the seed shell obviously) and rotate it.

The root is touching the water in the res and the seed now has 2 small leaves growing out of it. Will post pics later tonight. =]

Also, it looks like my first seed is about to pop out of the baby leaves, waiting to see if that happens tonight or not.

I ended up carefully taking that membrane sheath off the top because it started turning yellow where the membrane was.
As soon as I popped that off bitch opened right up. Posting pics after I cook up some dinner.

After seeing this little guy take off, I'm really glad I opened up the other one.

Looks like I might not be that many days behind on the new seed after all.

I feel like this is kind of a slow growth rate, can I infer that this is most likely a sativa dominated plant?

Mine started out kind of slow too. They are three weeks in now and I'm getting ready to top them. I think I'm going to try to use the topped part of my girls and re-root them using the rooting powder. I hope it works like a charm the way it did when I broke the taproots on two of my seedlings. I'll keep you posted and will get some pics either this evening or later on this week.

Glad to hear things went well after your taproot broke, I just said fuck messing with it and popped a new seed, 3 days in its already got the second set of leaves forming.

I think my first plant was slow because I germed it in a paper towel.

Thanks man,

I don't think that's possible with these labels, they pop right into the domes and seem to stay there. They are wider than the plastic pod will allow for it to touch the sponge, plus my grow sponges are wet, I don't want my plants soaking up glue.

Unless you are talking about gluing the labels to the plastic pod around the rim.

Might try that if I have some glue around here somewhere.

I also moved my light, so its no longer 2" from my plant, because I have two plants I need to get the light distributed to now :D, so its pointed ~45 deg. to the inside.

yea haha not on the sponge it self, on the plastic rim on the grow nets which hold the sponge, you can get mold that way, ima going to add that to the FAQ with some pics. and a lil more information

Just glued them down, it started to become a real pain to take the domes on and off, kept having to finesse it over the plant without bending it, lol.

Alright well, the new seed is doing awesome, doing so well I'm actually happy I was forced to plant this one ;-).

As you can see the plant that initially never shed the inner membrane of the seed casing is all crumpled up because the first set of leaves were all wadded up in there, but its looking much better since I cut the membrane off.

I have also noticed that my both stems are kind of purple, I wasn't sure on the first plant because I thought it went through some kind of stress when re-adjusted it a few times.

Anyone know what this could possibly mean?

Do certain strains always have purple stems?

Lookin good so far, the purple stem is normal, all my plants have purple stems, it kinda a lil cold in my cab, but its not a negative effect, keep us posted, thanks for the help around here man, good to see some one as committed as me to help people out

Thanks guys, this new plant is taking off like no other.. Height wise it has already passed up my other plant.

I now have my CFL bulb pointed directly on the newer (fast) plant.

The first plant has a thicker stalk, but its about the same height. I am hoping that I can equalize the growth here if I try to stunt the height growth on the new one and make the OG plant stretch to catch up.

Do you think this is a bad idea?

I really don't think that first plant is going to be a female, I just have this feeling.

Pics later tonight.
