Subbed over here, too. Jeez, you're rocking it with the globes.. Might I ask what the cost of your lighting was? My HD has 'em for $16 CAD, so $256 for 16.. Results rival entry-level LED units, pretty impressive!

$13 for the 2700k and $14 for the 5000k, so I have 16- 2700's and 4- 5000's with 6% sales tax came to $280 USD with ten year warranty.

Yeah, damn good warranty too. Next I want to see some mods that focus the light in one direction without reflectors, okay? =D

This the start of day 56 and just took some scope pics. The first two are from 2 different buds from the middle of the plant and the last is from the top of the tallest bud.

Day 56,lights out in 4.5 hrs. I've been reducing the lights by 15 minutes every other day and I'm at 12.25/11.75 now.Pulled her close to the door and hung a 12 oz can for some perspective against one of the middle buds, there are 3 taller and bigger ones in the center of the plant. I've got 3 canes that everything is tied off to but she has got a lean started, guess I should have used bigger canes because they're bending. From the scope pics it looks like I could could cut her at any time but I haven't run LSD before, any opinions? Not in a rush, her replacement isn't quite ready for the cabinet yet.

Any opinions on my day 56 scope pics for this LSD strain? I'm also thinking of adding one of these for the next girl moving into the Cree cabinet,I could hang it just below the hood on the back wall.Or does someone have a better UVB alternative that would fit this cabinet?

I use an equivalent HOT5 bulb in my HOT5 tent but it was not on a separate circuit, so it was on with the other bulbs. One 54w bulb was OK, but 2 was too much. Point being maybe 2 smaller ones to be safe, but it may not be a big deal if you are only running them for ~ 15minutes a day

Well I had it all wrong, this thing is not finishing early. I scoped her last night and looked at a bigger sampling of buds and she's still going strong. Tonight when the lights came on and I went to water her on the start of day 62 , I thought wow she has been packing on weight the last few days. Lots of plump new calyxes and fresh white pistils, had to double up 2 of the 4 canes because they were bending so badly and add new strings just to keep her upright. She's been on 12/12 since Monday along with the flower initiator and has a nice fade started, I'm wondering if I should even start moving her towards 11/13 by 15 minutes every other day along with the 730 nm. Pics Monday as usual.

Well it's the start of day 66 and she's still packing on the weight, new calyxes and pistols everyday. There are the 3 largest colas on top that are tied off about 10" down and the stems above are bowing under their own weight. My friend gave me this cut and said they harvested after 65 days so either it finishes faster under a 1000 watt HPS or they chopped too early, bud growth slowed a week and a half ago and I thought it was finishing. The growth spurt really started when I dropped the light schedule down to 12/12 and Barneys Farm site says 65- to 70 days so I'm letting her go. I think the Critical Kush could use the extra veg time. Wish I could get some better pics but all I have is a good web cam or a crappy cell and she would have to come out of the cabinet for that and I don't want to risk that in her overweight unstable condition, maybe I could borrow a friends camera to get some better pics inside the cabinet.

The 730nm Flower Initiator needs to be setup so it can light a portion of each plant, from the side at an angle seems to work well. To trigger the phytochrome switch the plant only needs to be partially it, brushing a part of the plant will change the sate of the entire plant. Only 730nm will produce this effect, 750nm etc. is too high of a wavelength.

These work with all forms of grow lights. As does the E-Effect RED Booster.

Seriously Cap'n you are killing it and me with those bulbs. I'm thinking in investing some real money in the next gen of panels but this grow just makes me want to buy $500.00 of CREE Bulbs. And I think I'm going to invest in some 730nm spots and start manipulating too. Looks like it works even better on smaller grows. I like those Illumitex based 730nm spots but I wanna see if they'll throw in the driver(s) if I buy 4 of them.

Please don't tell me ya got a CMH up there cause I'll be crushed :(. Sorry bro it is the internet after all and those things are bordering on the unreal . And ya know what? Great job either way :).

I know, every time I open the cabinet I can't believe 188 watts of home depot bulbs with 10 minutes of 730 nm grew this thing. A couple of friends that grow too, just shook their heads when I showed them my little girl. Home depot has Cree floods now, but they're more money and less lumens.
