I want this light just for scrogging. I'm having a hell of a time with my COB lights having to keep them 18". It's because of the optics on my Hydroponics Hut X5-500 really. The Amare SE-450 is great because the big bad-ass glass bubble optics come off allowing a great spread & closer growing. But I'd love to have the SpyderXPlus. Talked to them & almost got one but went with the SunCloak4416 instead for close growing. I love it. I believe they studied off of BML when making it. Still wanting the SpyderXPlus for scrogging. Who knows though. I bought all these lights to see which I'll be investing in & am running them all in one room, growing the same strain, cloned from the same branch. I love this stuff!!!!
They do know there shit. The three owners all have Ph.D.'s in horticulture science, light engineering or a combination of both. Even the one sales rep has a degree in horticulture. So I'm told. Helpful company they compile information on grows from there lights used. What statins were used nutrients ect. Whole grows with there lights and the information is at all light owners access, all you have to do is ask. They don't advertise that. Jerry one of the three owners is very personable. Their goal as a company is to continue to lower prices and increase quality. We'll see but I'm confident their here to stay continuing to bring new products to the table. Jerry said he has no intention on staying in one spot as lighting technology advances so will products.

I agree about them being knowledgable & scientific in their studies. The BML Spyder 1200 was the first LED I drooled over when I first started studying them. I talked to them then & again now. Didn't buy one then cuz new tech was about to come out & I wasn't crazy about the Grow-Max spectrum. Liked the Veiw-Max better. Now the Spectrum is what I think would be the best. Anyways, reading BML's pages on their website was the start of the learning process. It contained so much knowledge I needed. Also, they sent me all the info I asked for that wasn't on their web-site. Then & now that their FluencB. Poorly packed though you say? That sux but I hope it works out. I believe you have one of the better LEDs out as I want one too.

Packaging is close to meaningless as long as the product won't damage in shipping and functions as claimed. Hell at 1500! Package a bit nicer and throw some data sheets in or something.

That's cool! Nice to see they were on top of it.

Do those heatsinks have grooves to connect them to the frame? Looks like they do. Spyder1200 has plastic pieces that slide and connect together on top of the heatsink, I'm always worried I'm gonna snap the plastic right off.

I'll be trimming my first harvest from the spyder on Saturday. I had it next to a 1000w hps. Definitely not a fair side by side and was never really meant to be. 4 plants under each light, but one of the plants under the hps was a different strain and got taken down weeks ago. Definitely not expecting it to be one of my best runs as mistakes were made on both sides.
Now, with all that said. After trimming fan leaves, I have to say that I am pretty happy with the bud production under the spyder1200.
First pic is hps buds and second is spyder20160301_020829.jpg 20160301_020850.jpg

@J Bleezy

An all-around nice looking harvest, lots of bud to go around.

What were the details on the HPS that you used for this comparison test?
Sorry, maybe I worded that incorrectly. What I meant was, I knew that under these conditions it was not fair for me to decide which light is better.
But I used this Hortilux eye20151124_201837.jpg 20151124_201837.jpg
Sorry about the double pics

No need to be sorry, J Bleezy, just trying to get a better grasp of what we're comparing here.

Hortilux bulbs are typically priced as a premium bulb in stores, so output from your bulb should be good, especially if it's brand new. As for the reflector, which brand and model did you couple with the 1000W bulb?

It was an old school htg supply air cooled reflector. Not the best reflector on the market, but I honestly really like it. Not as wide of a footprint as my raptor, but I get bigger buds from it and very similar results in weight.

image.png Light hangers are hooked on the plastic ends. This is NOT how to hook the light up. New manual and video should be uploaded on Fluence Bio's page now or soon to be. I was told today or tomorrow the new video and manual would be updated.
