Gaia Green vs. Nature's Pride

For anyone in the GTA, I've searched pretty far and wide for cheap goods, and the best prices I can find on Gaia Green products are here. Hope this helps. I'm not affiliated with them all, they're just not too far from me and their prices are great.

I imagine that if you add some earthworm castings, you can get the microbes you want in there, too.
You can add up to 25% of your total mix. Best place to get them locally is here. Their castings are certified organic, they literally test their castings for microbial activity and they're very well-priced. They're also in the GTA.

Castings = Magic for your plants. There's a YouTube video in which someone grew out an entire plant with nothing but earthworm castings, and it made its way to harvest nicely with no added nutrients.

I have some seaweed powder that I got from my local grow store. This stuff is powerful. He said the castings aren’t necessary if I use the kelp. So I opted not to get it. I seen his harvest and he’s someone I can definitely lean on for info.

I use GG 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 in my soil mixes. For my indoor girls I topdress with a 3/4” layer of fresh ewc at 2 and 4 weeks of flower. At 6 weeks I take a cup of fresh ewc and add it to a gallon of water. I use that to water the girls. They love it!!

How much of the 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 do you mix in? When? I'm thinking of going Gaia Green in my next grow; there seem to be a lot of successful grows using just those two in ProMix.

Do you let the ewc/water mix sit for a while before using it? Cheers.

I add the GG as per instructions on the back.
My Mom, she’s 88, and me are gonna have a competition this summer. We’re mixing up soils this week so I’ll be adding the GG to our mixes. Also adding a few other amendments such as Neem seed meal, fresh ewc and compost and of course garden gypsum. That way it will sit for about a month before we put our Deep Mandarin CBD plants in the planters.

I just add the ewc to the gallon, give it a good few shakes and it’s good to water with!!

Thanks. Do you mix the 4-4-4 in initially, then top dress with 2-8-4 during flower?

I also grow CBD plants, it's awesome to have CBD oil in the house at all times. I've had good success with Dr. Seedsman seeds.

I add all amendments at the same time when mixing my soil.
Yes the Deep Mandarin CBD is what I make my gummies with. And since I make fem seeds out of all my strains, I have lots of them available.
My Mom and one of my brothers as well as myself take the gummies for helping us sleep.

Was gonna ask you if you make your own CBD oil? If so, how do you do it?

  • I take 30g of dried CBD bud and chop it into smaller pieces with a kitchen knife on a cutting board
  • I decarb it on a cookie sheet in the oven at 245°F for maybe a bit over an hour.
  • It infuses in a Levo II using the potency hack that can be seen in this video.
  • The entire 30g of bud goes into the machine, as well as one cup of MCT oil. Costco has this oil at a good price.
I get almost 200 mL with this method; I can't seem to get the full 250 mL of oil that goes in. However, with the Dr. Seedsman bud, this gives me a potent, really high-quality CBD oil that's better than I used to get from my LPs in Canada. I feel like larger quantities would be easier to do in a crock pot though.

LPs well 40 mL bottles of CBD oil for $90 plus tax, this is way better!

If you mix in 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 into your soil at the start, do you put in the 3 Tbsp/gallon of each according to the package directions, or to you make sure that the total of the two adds up to 3 Tbsp/gallon?

I've hear that a ratio of 2/3 4-4-4 to 1/3 2-8-4 works well.

Btw, I hope your mom wins the competition this summer!

For you fellow Gia 4-4-4 fans, it gets cheaper the larger size of package you buy. I buy 20kg for $83 from the hydro shop. It would probably cost me triple that to source all those ingredients and mix it myself. I toss a full bag in my veggie garden each year and have unreal harvests.

Really? The lowest price I could find is $89.99. I'd love to know where that hydro shop is, in case it's in town! Cheers.

I add each on accordingly. It work’s for me. The ratio application would work as well.
Yes my Mom is gonna grow her own medicine!!

What would anyone recommend as a substitute for Gaia Green? Amazon wants an additional 82 bucks to ship it to me.... the product is only $55...
GG website appears to be down at the moment also.

I am trying an all organic (outdoor) grow this year and I am looking for something to top dress with for Veg and then something to top dress for Flower.
I heard dr earth is the same thing. It’s a 5-5-5 tho not 4-4-4 I believe.. if I were u I’d get a few peat based soil 3.8s like I do, I live on a dairy farm so I grab the old composted cow manure at the back of a like 100yr old manure pile it’s just like soil It’s dark n rich I mix bout 80% peat soil wit the perlite in it wit 20% of that compost manure, then I used to just add bone n blood meal kelp, rock phosphate etc.. u can get all the stuff Gaia green has individually and make ur own supersoil similar to subcool n them in California
