it is possible, an acctually likely you wont be caught....its not something i do, anything i grow is all natural i let my plants grow themselves how nature intended, but for someone that is indoors an have power issues it is an option, if it were me i would just take them outside an let them enjoy some of that free sunlight they so much love.

3 42 watt cfls dont use much power. 12.6% of a kw/h. So depending on how long the lights stay on, and how much the power company charges for 1 kw/h will tell you the increase in the power bill. Say the lights are on for 18 hours a day, thats 2.268 kw/h's a day, and if the power company charges $0.20 a kw/h which is way more than I think it is...your bill will only go up $15 a month. I plan on using a 400 watt hps and 4 40 watt flourescent tubes for my room.

You could also try to lower your bill by putting more efficient lights in the rest of your house. Instead of a 100w incandescent bulb, you can use say a 15w compact flouresent. That would counter the increased power usage from your grow room
