Germinating under HIDs

can you tell me more... was there a significant difference in weight of yield?

were you growing the same strain?

that is my theory too... BUT i have never had any problem switching from CFLs to HID... lol... always went smooth, with tight nodes....4 nodes 4 inches tall... 5 nodes, 5 inches tall...

Has anybody put germinated seeds (seedlings) under a 1000 watt HPS... ?

this is my node spacing useing 2 26watt cfl's. keeped them 1inch from the tops. it hollands hope and its almost pure indica if not pure. the last 2 pic's are my red deisel's right now under 1 26watt cfl.

Can this be true?

Maybe it is time for a side by side experiment

the 1000watt should beat the cfl's but like you said its time for a side by side experiment.

I've never done it under CFLs but noticed that my plants don't explode until after day 14 under 1000w... the plants in the pictures have been re-arranged in the system slightly but you can still clearly see the growth spurt

Day 6, Day 10, Day 16, Day 20, Day 23...(under 1000w of MH and HPS HIDs)

I don't honestly know about the overwatering - the rainforest is essentially a bubbler (since I added a couple of air pumps) with an aerojet sprayer which is on all the time per GH instructions. I would have to drain the res to get the roots out of the water.

I forgot to mention that this grow is 6 different strains and 3 of the seeds are bag.

email.... how did you have your lights?

did they spin in a circle?

Hi email,im curious about the dual spectrum light,are you running both at once ? ive started running dual spectrum in one room vs all hps in the other room to see if yeild or quality are effected in any way.

Any thoughts on what to expect running dual spectrum for the entire 12/12 cycle with no veg time ?

my grow journal (in my sig) goes from seed to harvest. the dual-spectrum is both at once - a 600w HPS and a 400w MH (it comes in different configurations) a single ballast with dual connections... you can PM me too with questions.

i used a 50w MH and was a very frustrated grower let me tell you!

Thanks,ill pm you a few questions i have tomorrow,right now im kinda vegged out

I dont have the dual bulb lights in the single reflector like you have,i never saw them before,sweet looking

What i have is a 6 light system in this room,3 400 watt hps & 3 400 watt mh, set in 3 rows of 2 lights each row, while staggering the mh & hps each row.

The other room has 2 1,000 watt hps & 1 400 watt hps so the lighting is not excact but im hoping its close enough where i'll get an idea of any difference at harvest.
