Oh I know! I'm extremely excited for this to grow. As this being my first time the wait for the sprout is brutal.. How long does it take for your beans to hit the surface?

depends on how deep you plant them. I put them about 3/4 of an inch and I saw mine in 2 days.

I planted mine about a fingernail deep, so not even an inch. I tried to avoid going too deep. But it's been about 26 hours or so, hopefully we see life tomorrow! But I'm not 100% sure the seed was perfectly vertical. I didn't want to risk pulling it out and trying again though.

Day 5

So I tweaked some shit around and got a $10 acurite thermometer/hygrometer. It was saying I was at about 87 degrees and low to mid 40% humidity.

So. While the little one is still small I only have 2 6400k CFLs in there. And they're centered right next to an intake and the exhaust.
That brought the temps down to 82-84.

I also put my oscillating fan on circulating air around my box. I did that at 6:30 am and checked it on my lunch break at 11:30 and it was a soilid 81f/55%. Before I left I slightly opened the door to my box.

So now I am ordering a 200mm ~110cfm CoolerMaster Fan to replace my 80mm 32CFM fan..dumb move even thinkin that'd be enough. :wall: I am also going to order a fan controller.

But there hasn't been much growth..I think due to the heat but since the temps have even dropping it seems better. I think a new set of leaves are starting to poke out a tinnnnyy bit so we will see.

4PM and still 81 degrees so the door being open isn't doing much. Next step is the new exhaust fan which can only happen if my buddy lets me use his jigsaw.

81 is not a bad temp.
Yeah but its only at 81 when the oscillating fan is in the area and with 2 cfls...gonna get hotter with 8.

Think 110 CFM for the exhaust is overkill though? I have 64cfm for the intake so I thought 110 was decent.

81 is fine for now. Try venting through the top and have an intake onthe bottom side.
Yes, I have 2 intake fans and one exhaust fan set higher than both other fans.

But thanks for the tip but I usually find myself in there looking at grows anyway haha. From what I have seen 110 cfm should do it. Never hurts to ask though.

Try making a reflector and put the bulbs on a side so they look like they floating in mid air and have a extractor fan in the corner of the reflector this will gather more heat and also give more of a wider light spectrum only saying that because i had problems with my little micro that im attempting now.

Thanks for the idea!

However with this piece of shit box I'm gonna keep the lights as is... just because it will cause me way too much headache and trouble to redo everything. Replacing a fan is one thing but redoing the lights would be a bitch hahaha.

Also why do you say the fan in the corner is a good idea? I mean just about anywhere it is in the box its gonna block light.. unless you place the fan above youre lights..(which i also cant do. My ghetto fixture is screwed into the top. no room for a fan.)

I honestly plan on having another box built within the next 10-14 weeks so this grow is really just to tide me over until I can start building my other box.
(Im building a desk in my bedroom and the box will sit under the desk stealth style. I have the desk wood lacquered and ready just need to put it all together now)

Update: new leaves growth has continued slightly.
