Giant Bagseed bud, Harvest pic...

Just thought I'd throw up a pic of my largest bud/cola of the harvest. MANY smaller cola's but this one just makes me happy... Really fruity...

Bagseed, Flowered with 1000W Metal Halide, NO HPS. Just goes to show you that using a "diy" metal halide CAN get the job done pretty well. Went 10-11 weeks flower, Trichs 60-70 amber when I chopped...

What does everyone think?

Pretty good size. Looks like that bud thats just a bitch to trim. Probly a lil more leafy then if you had used an HPS but good job bro.

Looks like it is 60 percent leaf.

60% leaf is a bit of an exaggeration... maybe 30%... Almost dry now... Still stanky/fruity....

I agree very leavy and airy/fluffy. Nice size but See what happens when you try a HPS. Nice bud overall what does the rest of the harvest look like?

How can you judge if it is airy if you do not hold it? It looks prety good to me. Good grow dude!

A bit leafy but it looks okay. What matters is the dry weight.

I won't deny the fact.. that, that is indeed a nice looking bud especially for being some generic bagseed strain. Not to bust your balls or anything, but IMO... I think if you would have used the same wattage of HPS lighting.. IMO.. I think you would have ended up having a nicer kohla. IMO, it would probably be even a little heavier and bigger than the one you just chopped. Just my opinion.. and again.. I hope you don't take me as being a dickhead or anything.. I just like speaking my opinion on things. I'm 28 years old.. been smoking since I was 17.. (i know many of you have me beat.. im just making a statement) so yeah I'm def. a HUGE pothead.

Either way, good job buddy. How long are you going to let it cure? Or is that not for your personal use.. just something your going to flip..?

Good harvest. but hps is a better way. will be waiting for smoke report!
Hps is the way to go. i started off my grow with cfls but when it came to flowering those CFL's didnt do shit. So i got a 400w hps.... And my buds got soo much fuller,thicker, just everything improved in a week time!

nice size bud. little leafy for my preference, but nice bud nonetheless

i am betting its the strain not the light. not to sound like a broken record, but if you look at my avatar (journal has even more detailed and frosty pics), it was done with fluoros. that shot was taken at the beginning of week 6 of flower. it is also bagseed.

I'm just starting my first flowering with an hps.... actually, first whole grow using an hps, and thusfar, i'm rather disappointed by the veg growth it gave me.... maybe it will redeem itself in flower though. For now, I still would prefer mh

Hello EVERYONE! I go away on vacation for a week and come back to more action than I expected on this thread. To answer a few questions-

Dry weight : 25.4 Grams (WOOHOO!) Went into the mason jar(s) on the 26th. I have a bunch of stuff dry already so this bud will be curing atleast 4 weeks, hopefully longer depending on how much I burn through the summer...

I believe the "leafiness" is likely a strain issue more than a light issue. Im sure HPS may have produced a heavier bud, but as many experts have shown potency is best with MH, and thats MY opinion. I should note, if I had the choice of 1000W of HPS or MH, I WOULD TAKE THE HPS, the light I'm using was free from an old job site.

Its all personal use. Im just so thrilled not to be buying anything off the street anymore! I save more money not buying than I could EVER make selling, lol.
