Dsa, earlier I indicated that my camera was out of order. It's back up, so I thought I would show you what I have flowering right now:

Nice biglittlejohn! Those girls are looking mighty fine. A while back when I was first getting into growing I ran a G13 Blue Venom, ended up small and shitty as I was still but a fledgling grower. The potential was there though, blueberry x white widow sounds like a killer combo, too bad it didn't work out.

So today is DAY 32 of 12/12. According to what I've read online, flowering time for this strain is reported to be 55-63 days. If I were pressed to make a prediction I would say these girls are gonna take longer than that. That is unless they have a serious growth spurt coming in the next week or so. Don't get me wrong, they are getting bigger every day, but not by much. It could be one of those strains that simply produces a lot of high quality small nugs, but we'll know for sure soon!

Dsa flowering time is a tricky thing. I (and many others) don't start "counting"(I mostly just track weeks and watch the plants now) until the plants actually start to form flowers rather then when you switch the lights from 12/12. It takes days, and sometimes weeks for a plant to begin to actually flower depending on the maturity of the plant. You can start a seedling right into 12/12 light, and it will generally just grow normally for a few weeks before it starts to flower since as a seedling its very immature. Once the plant starts to form pistils and actually flower is the best time to start "counting" imho. The time after you switch your lights, until they start to flower is called the transition period, and most nutrient bottles even mention this on the labels.

My last harvest consisted of Blue Venom and HSO Pineapple Skunk. I wasn't impressed with BV but everyone who tried it gave me great feedback. I ended up trashing a clone after deciding I didn't want to hAng on to it. It was a nice harvest though....between the two plants I had 7 1/2 zips. Not bad for a 400w hos.

T-cat, one of the reasons I like longer veg periods is that I've found that it cuts down on the transition period. On that WW, I was seeing signs of flowering 4-5 days after they went into the flowering closet. I snapped a branch this morning, so that is hanging and will be my sample cut. I am thinking 7-10 more days for her...

Yea I hear you about flowering times, and I think you're totally right. When I switched over to 12/12 that's when my count started, and previously I was referring to this as flower, and then one day I was thinking about it and realized the girls weren't REALLY in flower, they were transitioning to flower, which is why I now refer to the day count as whatever day it is of 12/12. Looking back through the thread I would put the actual start of flower at approximately 10 days ago. So to be accurate about things, today is DAY 32 of 12/12 and DAY 11 of flower. So according to my research I've got another 44 to 52 days left of the flowering cycle, which makes sense really cause they're only just getting geared up to explode!

Biglittlejohn, that's a good harvest for two plants indoors, especially under a 400. I know it's too hard to tell at this point exactly how much I'm gonna end up with, but I'm hoping my girls really put out. I mean, check out how burly these girls are! Rock solid stems. And I'm with you on longer veg times, the larger and stronger you get em in veg translates to massive growth during flower. I think I got the veg time just about right for my girls, the flip to 12/12 brought on a huge stretch that ended up filling out almost the entire rest of the screen. Worked out pretty well really! This is my first time scroggin so it's a learning process for me, next time around I'm gonna reconfigure my system, put the res at the opening of the tent, then fashion a screen that takes advantage of the whole tent as opposed to just a portion of it. Still gonna do two plants, I think if I had vegged em out just a little bit longer two girls would fill that whole tent. Anyway, here's the pics of those stems I was talking about.

That longer veg period is what allows the plant to mature. I would assume from your posts you typically get preflowers on your plants before you switch them. Thus the plant is showing its reached that maturity level, and it has a very short transition. I had a plant I was cloneing for 4 years, from one original seed. It would show flowers almost like clockwork in 4 days after I put them under 12/12 light. Typically though if I stick a new strain in specifically to sex the plant, it takes closer to 12-14 days just because the genetics are young still.

Ideally I switch when I see preflowering but sometimes I force the issue. Because of the holidays and such this next group isn't going to get that nice veg period I like but it's more important to me to keep the rotation I have going in tact. But yeah I've found that allowing the plant mature is the way to go if you have the vertical space for the monster tree a properly run dwc system is going to produce.

DAY 33 of 12/12 ~ DAY 12 of Flower

PPMs have settled around 770 and seem to be holding here, the girls must be liking their current level. pH is at 5.8. Nutrient solution is at 67 F. On another note, got my new tri-meter and my small 30Wx18Dx36H grow tent is coming on monday. I started germing an Auto Jack x White Widow freebie I got with my last order of beans. I've never really had a white widow cross that's really worked out to it's full potential so I'm interested to see how it does. I love my photoperiod girls but autos sure are fun and quick to grow. I'll get some picks up of the new setup as soon as it's up and running!

DAY 34 of 12/12 ~ DAY 13 of Flower

Buds are starting to put on some size. Topped the system back up and threw in some big bud. PPMs are now at 710, I'm gonna see how they like this slightly lower level. There's no need to give em too much food if they don't need it! Even at the prior 770 the ppms were rising just a tad. No signs of any deficiencies so if they wanna run a little lower then so be it.

On the other front, got my little bubble tote mostly setup, now I'm just waiting on the tent, should be here any time now! It's gonna be rad, I think I'll be able to get a successful harvest done under a small T5, I don't expect yield but if I can replicate my results in the big tent on a smaller scale then I think I'm in for a fun little side project. I'll post some pics this evening once it's all up and running. The Auto Jack x White Widow seed popped so pretty soon here it's into the rockwool.

Looking good my man....I'm about to put a couple of cali connection gsc in coco. Therefore I'll be weeks behind you.

Sky rocket, lets see some pics of your setup! I'm always interested to see how other people are growing the same strain as myself. I grew one girl in coco a little while back, great medium to work with, I've still got a whole bag of it kicking around that I'll probably use here at some point in the future, most likely for some outdoor gear as I'm gonna be sticking with the RDWC setup for the foreseeable future.

Got my small tent mostly setup. Isn't going to fit in the spot that I had planned for it, it's literally 1/2" too tall, oh well, I've got another spot for it anyway! Sorry I didn't get any pics up, the Auto Jack x White Widow is just about ready to go into rockwool, so as soon as that happens I'll hook everything up, move the T5 into the small tent, and then snap a bunch of pics so you can see what I'm working with. The tote I bought for it fits perfectly, I believe it's a 10 gallon. I added a water level to the tote, got my airstones, pump, net pot with pebbles, and my new tri-meter all ready to go! It's good timing really because the girls in the big tent really just need to do their thing now with very little help from me. Now I have the time to devote to my newest little creation. I'm thinking about setting up another thread for the mini grow if anyone has any interest in following along. What does everyone think?

Hey Dsa, I usually germinate with paper towel and saucer method, but when after 14 days my GSC didn't pop, I threw it in an shot glass of RO water. The seed appears to be about to pop, so I may get a chance to grow this strain afterall.

Hey man, yea I'm all about the paper towel method myself but there are a lot of people out there who swear by soaking the seed in a shot glass like you're describing, I hope it works out for you!

Here's a little pic from yesterday evening before lights out, I liked the pic so much I just had to add it to the log! Exciting new development though, I was in the room moving the T5 over to the small tent and I got my first good whiff of the GSCs. It smelled dank to say the least! I'm digging the frost factor on these girls, they may still be young, but they're throwing out lots of trichs.

Finally, on the other front, got my small tent mostly setup, just need to add the airstones, tri-meter, and fill the system. The seed as been planted in the rockwool and placed right into the net pot. It'll be a day or so till she pokes her head out and even longer till she has roots touching the res so at this point I'm just gonna top water her. Anyway, go check out the new thread, "Auto Jack Herer x White Widow DWC Scrog Grow" in the autoflower section. Let me know whatcha think.

Will check out your auto grow....and I'll post some pics tonight of my 4x4 tent with a 1000 watt xxxl magnum hood. I vegged my clones aeroponicaly and I'm transferring them in coco.

Thanks drifter! Yea it's hard to say what is legit and what isn't. I checked out your grow, your girls are looking good. I like how you tied that one Tahoe cut down and grew her out laterally. I'm actually going to be doing the same thing once I get my small veg box setup. On the fence about whether to actually use it as a veg box or simply do a small autoflower grow under the T5 just for shits and giggles. I've got a couple auto white widow crosses that sound pretty tasty. I'm not the biggest fan of autoflowers but they are fun to grow. You mentioned you got yours in clone form? I got my seeds from Cali Connection. I'm actually kinda disappointed because after doing lots of research into the subject, it turns out that Cali Connection's GSCs are not the legit GSCs as the creators of GSCs do not release seeds or clones. Furthermore, the seed bank I got my beans from states the genetics of Cali Connection's "GSC" strain to be "Thin Mint Pheno Pure GSC Seeds," so I'm not really sure what to think of that. If Cali Connection's "GSC" is indeed a rip-off then what are the true genetics of the strain I'm growing?? When I was doing my ordering I saw this strain and thought to myself, wow, GSCs thin mint pheno, I'll take some of that, I guess I should have done more research first. Moral of the story, it looks like we might have all fallen victim to craze and confusion that is GSCs. Now all this being said, Cali Connection does have some great gear so regardless of whether what I've got growing right now is a rip-off or simply closely liked genetics to the real GSCs, they're growing like champs and by the look of things, should turn out to be pretty epic bud, regardless of lineage.
ive been doing research on cookies myself and theres a lot fakes out there. I think mine looks very similar to BC Bud Depot gsc.
