Good afternoon. It partly cloudy, 77F with 63% humidity at 1730. Today's high was 80F {before the rain}, and the forecast low for tonight is 55F with no chance of rain. Thunderstorms were forecast, but it didn't amount to too much. I was working in the garden, and had to get under the trees for a few minutes, but never left the garden.

Did have a little drainage problem with my new tarp shelter. The walls were too high, so the rain puddled on the roof. It dumped {on my throw pillow and chair} when I reached to pull it out. Now I have to look for a new throw pillow at the thrift stores tomorrow.

We had a couple of inches of rain yesterday morning, {most of which I hiked through} then a cool front moved in. It was down to 48F this morning. I kind of wish it had been cool when I was on the trail.

It was windy and cool all day. The high was only 69F and now it's partly cloudy, 56F with 70% humidity. Forecast low for tonight is 49F with no chance of rain.

Good morning. It's already as warm today as our high yesterday. But it was cool early on. I was setting up one of the rooms here at work early this morning, and I opened up all the doors to let the cool air blow through. At 1125 it's 69F with 37% humidity. Forecast high of 76F with no chance of rain today, and a low of 55F tonight. No real chance of rain until the weekend, and it doesn't look too promising.

I wish I could have had this weather last week when I was hiking.

You said you needed to test your rain gear. No complaining, you got what you wanted! LOL

I have ditched the rain pants and jacket in favor of a poncho. I figured it would work as a pack cover as well. Worked alright, but I did still get wet by the first couple of miles. Around the neck especially. And below the knees of course. I have made a couple of prototype Tyvek {sp} rain kilts. They still need work before going on the trail.

And my 16 dollar tent from Walmart.com works in all conditions, as far as I know, other than rain. But then I have never used it in snow or wind. The wife says I buy the cheapest gear I can find, then when it fails, I buy what I had planned on in the beginning. She has known me a long time.

Rain gaitors and a wide brimmed hat should help.

Sounds like you got a good wife. Did you fail once or twice before you found her?

Goodness knows I've failed in the marriage department, so I'm not one to judge!

This is my first go-round. I had a close call when I was in college, but I was lucky enough to have her back out. That is what got me in the Navy, needing a change of scenery. I was pretty foot loose during my 20's, so I was ready by the time I met the wife.

We don't agree on everything, but we agree on money matters. That breaks up more marriages than anything else.

It broke up mine, so I'm inclined to agree.
