Good thing I'm legal. Part 5, or 6 maybe?

Just had some cable trucks in my front yard. They coned off the trucks and strolled up to my house. I was in basement working and ran out to meet them in the front yard. Guy stopped and looked at me and said, I am afraid I may have some bad news for you. For awhile now this neighborhood has been having internet trouble and it's only happening 12 hours a day. Last friday I finally tracked the interference to this house.
I went from way way way in the woods using hughes net satelitte cable, to moving here, where I was lucky enough to get cable. My internet hasn't been great. I listen to Detroit radio online most of the time and it cuts out a lot. At Breedbay they do drops of Bodhi Seeds and some people on here, know that scoring a pack of those seeds, you need to be an internet gamer, to grab them quick enough. I called cable once, and they had me hook directly to modem and bypass router. That was good. (But it was late and lights were out. lmao). I went and upped my internet speed to 100mg, or whateverthefuckitis. It was still shit, bought a newer Cisco router, one of the expensive fuckers. Still shit. I went and bought a new laptop. Still shit. For the last two weeks I have been dreading calling Cisco and spending a few hours with some dude in foreign country going through my shit. Now I know the problem!
Anyway, back to visit. Dude sat there and told me once they found the interference they watched it all weekend. They know when my lights come on and go off. I do not understand electricity, but something in my lumateks interfere. He said this is common as fuck today. They work on this all the time. So of fucking course, my spliters are in basement in ceiling of my grow room. Come on in guys. They went through everything and said they couln't fix problem, cuz we run lots of shit here (Several tvs, 3 dvrs, phone, internet) He says they are needing to send inside installers to rewire my shit with a different insulated wire (they are outside field techs). what the fuck, eh? So good thing I am legal, once again. Watch your shit peoples. They have my number, and are supposed to call me later with final decision. Of course I will keep everyone posted.
I am running 1000w Lumateks. More than a couple. He said there are literally hundreds of these cases and they do not contact authorities, blah blah blah. So make that electric companies and cable companies that can see clearly what's up.

They just called, had me run speed test, said everything is better, but not good. My shit is running 25 mbs downloading and 5 mbs uploading. It's much better, but not what it should be. They will schedule re-install. Bye-Bye sealed room. Belle just picked up my co2 regulator, looks co2 on hold, for dozenth time. lmao.

Hey brother PM me your provider ...

I believe what you have been told is correct. None of those coaxial lines (even insulated) should be run by fluorescent lighting or HID ballasts, especially when you are pulling so much off those lines.

He said this is a HUGE situation with cable companies. Having to rewire homes with mj grows is pretty fucked up situation for everyone involved. lmao.
He said in the hundreds in Michigan. Anyone guess what that will cost cable companies to go and redo all those houses? Or will it cost me? I will certainly see.
I cannot see the cable companies being excited about this, if they have to bear expense. Not to mention, have my neighbors been calling for months bitching. I have been mad as shit, never imagined I was the problem. lmao.

I don't know if it the Lumi's or actually the socket wire that runs from the reflector to the ballast. But I bet it's a shitty insulated socket wire leaking rf.

I have a cheap chinese wing reflector and the wire on it is about the diameter of a vacuum cord. My Sunleaves hood has a cable 4x's as thick.. I can see how some leak and some don't.

I think I'd tell the cable company if they want access to my house to fic THEIR problem they better be hooking up with better rates, if mot I might just have to add a few more lights to my mix... I hate cable companies. Thieving fuckers.

The cost should be handled by the provider as it is necessary for them to charge you for all those services. But I could be wrong if they see you as owning that wire that needs replacement.

I do use a master lighting controller. Think it's 50 amp.
As far as cable companies go. I hated these fuckers. Hated them. Every bill would be wrong. lmao. I moved way into woods, had satelite tv and a seperate satelite internet. I missed my cable company soooo much within weeks. I never question my bill now, and I say please and thank you. roflmao.
Oh ya. And I am about to double my ballasts too. lmao.

I was figuring, but that has to suck for cable providers. Hey everyone, I don't feel sorry for them. And I do not think this is gonna break them. lmao. But this is a fairly serious problem they are having. That is why I made thread. I imagine illegal grower in very populated area, that has business owners and several residences calling daily bitching about poor signal. Yelling, cussing, threatening to change providers. Then they find illegal grow has been huge headache. Those cable guys may not be as cool as the ones that I dealt with.

In a legal state, I'd imagine crying to the authorities isn't going to get them anywhere unless they are in Oakland Co...

They COULD probably file a legit complaint with the FCA though. Since it's causing radio interference.. I remember back in the day when people had illegal wattage CB's and was always watching for the antenna van lol.

He said in the past, things were different. He said involving LEO is bad for EVERYONE!! And it doesn't solve anything.
How unfortunate for the first round of customers, turned victims. lmao.

Office just called and scheduled time to rewire everything new, with anti-Lumatek technology! Now my WJLB, 97.1 the ticket, and Shade45 will not fall out every half hour. lmao.

running all the feed-

outside the house will prevent this. also put all you ballasts in one area and line it with coil stock metal/tin. or even that bubble wrap, witht he shiny on the outside.

think Faraday.

That shiny bubble wrap is expensive shit.. I can't find a roll cheaper than over $100. I read where it's suppsedly lined with aluminum, but I swear the shit I have is mylar, maybe not though. I have that for my walls of my flower dungeon, now that I've added on I need to get some more but I'm looking at mylar now, it's way cheaper.

Had 3 comcast guys walk up to my house and say the same thing, and they were not so nice about it. When they showed up I had no lights on, nothing running at all except a few AC units.

They put a filter on my line which did not affect me at all. I don't watch on-demand or anything, but I saw no ill effects from the filter.

I called a friend of a friend and he came over with this cablue-guy machine. He said 'woah' you do have a lot of interference, 30dB feeding back into the system. I said how is this happening my grow lights are not on? He looked at a few of the wires on the side of my house. He found a bad wire with a rotted shield, snipped it back 2feet, crimped on a fresh connector and BAM...interference gone. Too bad the crappy comcast guys couldn't do that!

The comcast guys said someone would be calling me to schedule an appt. Nothing ever happened, they never called back and haven't been back since. They said the same thing to as they did you. "Lots of people growing tomatoes nowadays"

My issue is that I have heard that only digital ballasts cause this problem, and since I run 3 magnetics AND they weren't even on when they came to the door, I am wondering how this happened anyway.

However, I will say that I've always have had crappy cell phone reception in my house and last year I had a problem activating a new digital adapter box from comcast. So this has me thinking that my house has an electrical issue anyway that causes me to be more prone to giving off interference. Bottom line is can this be caused by magnetics? And check your lines because it may just be a crappy splitter or line. Also they will have you check for deadhead lines that have nothing connected.

I wasn't really happy these 2 dudes in my yard were just going to ask me about growing in front of neighbors or anyone else around.

You know glad I've always meant to ask you if you had any interference problems...the cg down the road had the same problem. The dish guy came in and fixed the problem and said he has been in many houses with this issue and most not legal. Thought it was cool and went on his way with another great story to tell the wife. I researched this like 3 years ago and its typically a problem with digital ballast. I haven't had any problems ever with magnetic ballasts. Hope shit gets figured out for ya

They talked about a filter. I said I was running 3 DVRs, they said no way it would work. They did a few connection changes like you said, and they said this is the first place that the two of them couldn't fix on-site. They said that I run more splitters that most and broke down the math. I know they were being straight up with me, cuz original installer warned me that I was running a lot of shit off their splitters. That is why I opted for them to just redo it all. Adding 4k more in lights will only make matters worse. lmao.

It's figured out and getting solved. I just immediately thought that shitty cable guy and illegal grow op will be much worse than my run in with cool cable guys and legal grow. lmao. I already see how common this is, and I didn't have a clue. EVEN having the bad internet myself. lmao. Guess, I should have been the first in neighborhood to figure it out. lmao.

I think you might run into problems with cable guys for various legal reasons. If a tech refuses to go into your house the cable company is not going to force the issue. It is more a crew by crew issue not the cable/dish company. Change up your complaint a bit and hope for a different crew ;)

The filter in your home may stop 2-way communication with the cable line to your home. The filter must be removed before any equipment can talk back and forth (ie phone/data). It acts like the firewalls on your computer and/or router. Hope that makes sense.

I'm just about to add another 1k light, I hope I don't have any issues... Even though I'm legal i think I would go without cable before I'd let a complete stranger see my set up.
