Philips has new LED spots available in Europe.

It's a shame they're only up to 5.5W

97cri available in 4000K, 73lm/w and a 36 degrees beam angle.
73 lm/w 4000K at 97 cri is probably equal in efficiency to a 95 lm/w 4000K at 80 cri.

Not amazing even for bulbs but it has a very tight beam angle so there won't be much wasted light.
Should be efficient enough to consistently get 1+ g/w with decent yielding strains.

Also they're expensive.

I'll just wait for new normal A19 bulbs.

35 lights at 13.5w so 472w total. The sockets are just standard hardware shop fittings. Diffusers are removed.
You can achieve great coverage with this system which works well if you have height restrictions.
Some side lighting will be my next mod.

I built one similar. 3 rows of 7 bulbs. 14 watt bulbs. Next build might be tighter spacing. Missing a couple bulbs.

FYI i was in walmart last night and saw that the sylvania (AKA osram) 2700k bulbs were also over 100 lm/W in 2700k. 1500 lm/14W

also among the "Great Value" house brand there are two types of "100W replacements" - the higher quality ones with the big metal ribbed heatsink bases, about $28/4 pack and other cheaper ones with plastic bases that are $18/4 pack but lower efficiency


to keep it simple - you dont want anything under 100lm/W and the math is easy. start with the "100W replacements"

1500 lm at 14W - yay
1500 lm at 16W - no bueno

i like the clear dome but all of the feit "horticultural" lights ive seen were always several times the price of the whites

Not easy to find A21 for a decent price in Canada. The best I've found is Costco (afaik the larger packs are only avail online)

Luminus A21 14.5 W 1520 Lumens 2700 K Non dimmable LED, 12-pack = $60 (CA!!)

I haven't built anything larger with these yet, but I've been using a couple for cloning purposes. I watched a Harley Smith video where he said that lower temp light promotes root growth. So last round I used 2 of them over 12 clones and had foot-long roots in a couple weeks. I'm still using some cmh bulbs for flowering, and I think these are going to be great for evening out the light in the corners.
