i like the clear dome but all of the feit "horticultural" lights ive seen were always several times the price of the whites
So what's the skinny with this @CobKits , do you think 1 of these 9W specials would grow a head of lettuce?
It's interesting that they show bluple on the front of the package but on the back show them as being 3300K and what appears to be a white light by the distribution graph

if its white prob not at all
Ok, there is clearly something going on here that is overlooked by every one hacking standard led bulbs and spectrum.
These brightStik's photosynthesized much better with the original diffusers on than after removed.
Look at this diffuser "fluoresce"? under Metal Halide light. Clearly not just clear plastic

Hey guys, I got some pics for you to look over. I'm new to LED and only done a few indoor grows (CFLs).

A few questions on LED's:

-
1. Have any of you noticed a difference in colorTEMP for different brands? EX: both state 2700k but look different colors when lit? In there photo I have 6(11w:1100lm:2700k), 2(13.5w:1500lm:5000k), 2(40w:4000lm:2700k), why the 2 2700k's look diff?

2. Have you noticed a cost/benefit ratio of cutting the globes off vs amount of peripheral light? Do you cut the glove off all the way or do you leave a little on to help diffuse light sideways slightly?

A few questions on the grow:
-
Background:
I started some bag seeds in soil outdoors. Went 4-5wks (early July), grabbed the biggest one to focus on and brought indoors (later Aug). She was getting pistils before I moved her inside and I changed her light sched from (natural daylight) 12ish/12ish to 24/7 (LED). She grew some goofy, almost lettuce like leaves for awhile (1ish weeks) then she started to grow normal again. But... She never stopped growing pistils. I think she may have been an autoflower because she started to show sex so early, and also the fact that I tried to put her back into veg w 24/7 and she still wanted to show sex. I cut her in half to control height and to bush her out a lil (strong signs of sativa). I continued topping and attempted to spread her out for approx 2 more months under 24/7. She was getting taller but staying to compact and lots of crowding. The tops of the branches were becoming more heavily haired with pistils, but I was still in 24/7. She looked like she had been wanting to flower for a month at least but I wanted to get her bigger. Finally I switched to 12/12 (mid-late Oct) because I felt like maybe she was already in flower (pretty pistilly) and I didn't want to not let her get any rest (heard no light is good for them to make resin, and just good for healthy growth) and have a shitty yield. When I put her on 12/12 I also built a trellis net to help with the crowding. ALL PICS ARE FROM 1wk AFTER 12/12 (mid-late Oct) AND ARE CURRENT
-
1. What week flower just by looking at her do you think she is in? Had she been flowering already?

-
2. I hear about a stretch early flower after you switch the lights, do you think she will stretch and grow through the trellis netting?
-
3. Is my trellis netting to high? It looks like she has bud development about 4-5inches in length starting from the top, but my trellis net only allows for approx an 1-2" of top to peek out. Do I need to lower the net/raise the plant to let more come through? Or will it grow through? So I still have about 2mo of flowering to grow through? or am I like on wk 5 (biologic clock instead of by when I put her in 12/12) and she's already done her stretching and I'm just stressing her out?
*This lil cola... (leaves pulled back to see under growth)

*And then this lil cola next...(trying to show the bud undergrowth to get help determining if I need to raise plant/lower netting)

4. Opinions??? Advice???
I've been cheese grating tomato food spikes and adding a lil of the grated spikes to her water as well as Epsom salt and calcium pills (once dissolved). Any deficiencies you see, anything lacking???

*** I'll post the rest of the pics I couldn't here, on the next comment, only can put 10 per comment I guess..
