Use half the amount of light and see how much you harvest.

All aspects are important, but genetics are genetics... If the genetics are not there to yield the weight it will never happen even if everything else is optimized. Out of all things I'd take A++ genetics over the best of anything else. If I gave you a low yielding 10% thc strain with mid level grow environments (newts/lights/temps) you will never get it to yield much more and get THC much above 10% no matter how good the lights, newts or temps are.

getting a decent grow room with top of the line newts is so easy it's silly... getting a high yielding high thc or CBD strain is not easy. yes you can get 18-22% stuff that yields well but I'm not talking about that because once again, a perfect room and lights will hardly make a difference unless the mid level grower was killing their crops somehow.

funny you should mention that ive ditched 80% of the new strains ive gotten in last year and am back to old faithful and remembering why she was the go-to in the first place

Yep. Light is a non issue, you can go down and buy good lights and set up in hours... Getting genetics that make people say "wtf!" is much harder than you would think. You can buy decent genetics all day, but unless you're gonna trade me some A+ genetics for mine, it ain't gonna happen =)

Also, you can grow outdoors where you don't need lights... and in that case its all about the genetics.

just my thought, could be wrong but don't much care haha =)

you are talking about a different set of standards, once the Ideal light is setup.

You can have the greatest spectrum in the world, but it is nothing without photometric output aka photons. This is why HPS is sought after stilll......, technically some will say it "lacks" part of the spectrum, but puts out great photometric yield, hmmm.....

Its all about how you apply everything.
The reason ive switched from hps to led is quality. i can bring my lights as close as i can with-out issue. They run cool but i switched my actual wattage hps with actual wattage led. im pulling about the same as i did with hps. But now im more experianced with leds and yields are improving.
