Growmol light question

Okay so if all you have is the one led then ride it out for now until you can snag a nice flowering light. I cant say anything bad or good about that light because I never used it but if its working for you and you don't have other options then ride it out for now... otherwise I would send it back and use something else while you invest in a current COB or QB Style Led light. Blurple LED's are older and have much less efficient diodes based on a fixed spectrum rather then the semi-newly accustomed DIY type of lights. You can purchase the good LED's complete but expect to pay a premium. If you wanna know more about how to build your own light then check out Growmau5 on you tube. greengenes garden is also another great source for info. Both have there own products for sale but they can also help you understand what you actually need for your own space!

For 85 Bucks I wouldn't hesitate to destroy that light and check out the driver. At that price point I definitely wouldn't try to sell shit on eBay ... Return it if anything. Perhaps try to keep them stickers intact while you tear it apart and if the drivers are crap then send it back. Sometimes you gotta pop open the drivers to figure out what they are. Dont be shy get your feet a Lil wet. Unless you cant afford it of course.

Your 3x3 looks amazing. I want to do something similar in a 4x8. Would you continue the 3000k and 3500k pattern all the way across the room if you had the space? Would you add other lights? What up what up Dawg
Yeah that would be nice. Or if you get a price break going all single color temp, do that instead. Otherwise,it would be great. I might add in some ir strips or uv if i wanted to play with it. Otherwise, the strips are good enough. @Takeshy did a 5x5 grow which is not far off, and he did a crazy 32 double strip build 900 watts. Pulled 1.9 grams per watt first yield. Second time growing lol. But that's an insane build, it will cost you. It came out really nice though.

Why do you suggest going with a single color? what about the Emerson effect?

Well I would suggest mixing 3000k and 3500k just to get a little more blue for veg and for possibly more trichomes/colors in flower.

Emerson effect does nothing above 400ppfd. But if you go low ppfd and use emerson it's very effective.

I had no idea that the higher photon density up to a certain point could eliminate that! Not to be annoying but where can i learn more about that? It sound kind of obvious but im still going to have to say a mixed spectrum has to be better no?

Obviously at some point the plant says hey theres too many light photons in the air for me to eat. At which point can we actually know how much photons at any given spectrum are actually taken up by the plant. damnit why cant i just be a plant who can communicate with you people.

Honestly i dont remember right now exactly why. Maybe @nfhiggs can chime in.

You could use the IR with the natural 3000k/3500k spectrum if you wanted to. But no need to add far reds really.

Okay, so I went ahead and returned the light. For 85.99 since it was a cheap Chinese light I believe for what I'm gonna be getting for my little space. My tent is 31" inch wide X 2 feet deep, this will work for full cycle?https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C57J7XX
That light is much more modern tech. I think youll be satisfied. It shows a fairly low ppfd at 18" for flowering so you may wanna trellis or try to scrog it a bit and drop to 16" for flower. Also i would mention the 3500k light would probably be a better all around light if you wanna flower with it too.

It might be wise to wait a day or two and check out hlgs websight. There Lm301b chip is comming out this weekend and they might have a better light just like that one. The new diodes should be around 6 - 10% more efficient.

I'd go with 3000k or 3500k, but it's a small difference, it will work well for veg and flower. I think you could use a little more light for flower, but wouldn't lose sleep over it.
