Thx for the complement on the boxes. Yea they cost some $ but I think they will be worth it. I did add a layer of my soil Layer A to the top. If they dont do well where they are I will move them and grow something else out of them. I was thinking I could have just dug deeper holes and that may have been easier but then you never know. I do like it that I can grow my own in my yard. I plan to put a canopy over them and to have some screened sides to lessen the impact from moths and caterpillars.

If I only have one pheno of a strain I will keep it but I dont like the lanky phenos in general. I have a couple of TGA strains (SG, Q, and V) that arent taking the nutes too well. I've never hade problems in the past with his stuff but maybe they just dont like the confined spaces

I finished off the planters and selected the plants to go into the ground and which ones needed to go in the 20-gal pots. I selected one BCK to make babies with the Purple Jack. Speaking of Jacks, one of the JBs started showing balls so he got the ax. Down to my last gasp for a JB girl. The DWs are looking fine too. I pulled 2 that were deformed, leaving 3.

THere were some that had very root bound pots and some not so much. The ones with extensive root bounding were the ones turning yellow. They should like their new homes. Most of these strains are looking very dense.

I have also included some manbud porn. Cant wait for the girls to show their stuff

Row 1:Girls in their beds row 1, girls in their berds row 2, plants awaiting 20-gal pots, HAOGK, VK

Row 2:babies awaiting 20-gal pots (DW front, JB top left), lovers lane (Purple JB male and BCK fem), BK root, male bud porn, purple frosty balls

Row 3:BCK in flower at the love shack, underside of the Purple JB male

Now the fun begins, you still should get 1/2 lb per plant...
I will do better than that I think. I am a positive thinker though. Most of them are still in veg and the soil is prety high in N. Last year they didnt start until mid Aug and this year, down here has been really cool as far as summer. I think you are right though they will be smaller. Most of them are about 4-5 feet high. I already have the love shack going with Purple Jack and BCK for some seeds for next year. I will also seed some bottom branches for next year too. I had a hard time selecting phenos for the raised beds so I did like you said. When I couldn't weed out some in the end I'm putting them into the 20-gal pots for tasters and some seeds to see how they are. We should have fun this year at the tasters bash.

i was gonna ask GT; u dont top/supercrop/LST or anything? jw. i know a good amount of growers (especially outdoors) that are all about the natural xmas tree style.

I like the natural style myself, for most strains.... but sometimes I like to screw around and see what happens when its like this or that. Been cooling down around me the last couple days. Makes it easier to work outside.

Garden is looking fantastic GT. I know they are going to love it in there! Remember last year I didn't get mine into the beds until about now. They should be taking off right around now. Let us have an update soon? :D

I just let them rip. I dont do anything to them. Sometimes I remove some of the lower branches but that is about all. Wish I had some sun.

Thx TLD. Will do.

What you doing with the pollen off the purple? Save it for me if your just going to throw it out....
Absolutely Hodge. Got a bunch saved up. I will make up a bindle for you. I really am encouraged by that one. I have a Ult Chem male still too I need to milk next.

Thanks GT, my plants are all starting to flower, thought I could go another couple of weeks with veggin but I'm going to start flowering this weekend or early next week, give the girls a little time to use up some of the stored nitrogen.

I am starting to think you may be right on the yield as I am seeing them start to tighten up. Some are actually flowering (BCK, BA, and some of the Kushes). I will get some pics up tomorrow for the weekly update.

Some of the new soil is a bit hot down below so I hope the 20 gal plants will be ok. The top half shouldnt be a problem for them and I will keep watering them as I want to plant my citris and avocado trees in them. We shall see. Sprayed with Spinosad today since I found some caterpillars today. Will repeat in 7-10 days. Mixed up a batch of potassium bicarbonate too (1 tsp/gal). That is for mold/fungus prevention for tight dank buds. I have some pics I will post later.

THings are starting to cook in the garden. Today I finished the soil mixing and planted the last 2 in the 20 gal pots. The soil was hot (the bottom half) I think from the sun finally coming out but partly from the heat of composting. I got the purple Jack to milk the final pollen from him and look at the tops. Looks like there are calyxes with seeds. I did find 2 seeds and some calyxes.

Anyway I was digging in the spent pollen sacks and found some caterpillars
.Sprayed the plants with Green Light Lawn and Garden with Spinosad. Will repeat in 7 days. I also mixed up a gallon of potassium bicarbonate for mold/fungus as the plants are starting to stack and shorten their nodal spacing. I dont want to have a bud rot problem this year so I will be spraying before they get too dense.

Today was one of a handful of days since the begining of June where the sun was out all day. Frickin wierd weather. Some of the strains are going into flower mode (BCK, BA, and some of the kushes). Will get more pics tomorrow.

Row 1 and 2: Shots of the calyxes and tops I cut off the purple Jack Black. The plant has more I left on to mature. Dirty frickin caterpillars

Here is the update to the previous pics for this week. At this rate there should be some plants ready for hanging in early to mid Oct. The BCK is going into full on flower with purple flower power on the one pheno. The one in the raised box is going slower than the other two phenos. Some plants are still veggin wich is ok by me since it will give me a little break during trimming. I think I will just put what is left into 20 gal pots since I dont think this years crop will get very big it can add to the volume at harvest time.

I increased the nutes to about 1070 PPM (2 tsp/gal). I will also spray with spinosad again this comming week followed by a spray of potassium bicarb (1 tsp/gal) for mold/fungus/bud rot prevention. Both spinosad and potassium bicard will have a couple tblsp of wetting agent (like soap). Enjoy the pics.

Row 1: HAOGK, BK bud, BA, purple BK, LA CON x ECSD

Row 2: C 99, ULT CHEM, JB and DW (all females), BCK purple bud

Hey GT, I would soak the heck out of those boxes, will cool the mix off and will help with your yield...

Not much change this week. Things are starting to stack for flower production. The BCK is the most advanced with 3 phenos all at different stages. The really purple one is far ahead of the rest. The raised bed row closest to the wall has the most plants in veg still. Found a MS male that snuck by me and had started to form balls so it got the boot. I will take some pics of the purple JB male as it is looking pretty. Look how much the JB has grown in the 20 gal pot. Wow.

Row 1: Group photo, Delta Wave babies, Ult Chem, LA Con x ECSD, JB

Row 2: HAOGK, BA, BCK, V, MS

Thx Boomer.

Thought I would give you some teasing bud porn this week. The only one that has been in flower for more than 3 weeks is the purple BCK which starts week 4 next week. I will try to get some pics in the day since its suppose to be hot this weekend.

Also many of the plants are starting to stack up. Especially the HAOGK and the BCK. Check out the HAOGK pheno I put in the raised beds and the one in the 20 gal pot. Glad I picked the one I did. Should be getting fun from her on out.

Row 1: DW, P, Ult Chem, CI x BB, C 99

Row 2: HAOGK, BK, purple BCK, BA, HAOGK

Row 3: JB, HAOGK up close, BA up close, BCK, BCK

Row 4: WTF is this?, Q, V, P
