If the student of the Universities of Illinois came together, and demanded that non violent criminals be released or they won't pay tution, EVERY possession case in that jail could be released.
Students at Universities have tried something along those lines throughout history and ALWAYS failed. Hell, we tried that when I was in school, we thought school should be free, so marched around campus and we all said we weren't going to pay our tuition. We got about 11k people to start doing this. You wanna know how the administration replied? "We are a very impacted school, and see no problem expelling anyone who doesn't pay their tuition, your spot will be filled. And you will be barred from future enrollment." Unfortunately, ideologies never pan out. We need to get FDD a lawyer, and that lawyer will probably need to be willing to work pro bono or be willing to wait a little while for his/her payments.

So far the only news we have is about FDD. RIU said he has been moved to Peoria IL. But no word about Kotton or his GF.

I know if I owned the site I would be taking a good hard look at why revenues are dropping by 1/3 holy fuck, heads would roll if this were a real company. I guess looking at the drop to see if it goes hand in hand with the charging of the Mod's. Would be interesting to see.

I'm not thinking the owner is too concerned with ad revenue. There's no google ads here. No "shopping cart" to buy anything and no paid only areas of the site or levels of membership. There's 1 banner for an anti virus and some affiliate love from the attitude that rotate so it doesn't look like they are trying to squeeze the site for revenue at all. Other grow sites have all of the above AND are full of adsense bullshit and have owners selling stuff like they run a booth at the swap meet.

SHHHH, federal pigs are reading this right now. They would love to sniff out some barrels of cash for buying more street crack and hookers :(

With all due respect. I disagree. Just for context, I am sixty years old so I have seen a lot of changes in the world. When we were tokin up out in the hills overlooking the city when I was 17 or 18 we talked about if MJ would EVER be legal. I am now a card carrying Medical patient and every time I pass a cop while rollin dirty I smile knowing that I AM LEGAL. The Feds ask two things of you. Don't grow over 99 plants and don't sell over state lines. I can live with that. Not saying ANYTHING bad about FDD. I have very much been temted to sell across state lines myself because of the profit which is HUUUUGE when it works but if I ever do that I will do it knowing the risks. All I am saying is that from my view we have come a long long way and unless you get greedy for the most part it is all good. We still have a ways to go, that's true but current Federal laws are in my opinion and at face value generous to say the least. I like this Country and I don't think that this incident is going to shake my faith in America.
Having said all that I will say that I am a greedy person by nature myself and the only thing that has kept me from being in the same tight spot is fear and common sense and so I feel for FDD'S family and wish them well as I do for FDD himself but I am not ready to hyperventilate and call this a "POLICE STATE" or blame the feds. sure there is room to improve but I don't need freedom to sell interstate to feel all warm and fuzzy about my country..
Agree completely on keeping it legal, for all the same reasons. We're also the same age. =) But my beef is with the new ability for indefinite detainment without being charged, with prisoners "disappearing" for indefinite periods of time. The Patriot Act, Gitmo and Abu Graib (sp) have re-defined the culture of law enforcement. Google what's been going on with Seattle's PD. Their conduct is close enough to a police state for me!

As an old hippy who ended up on Nixon's list of anti-war activists (and got pulled into secondary every time I came back into this country until 1983), I've watched the Darth Vader gear up of the last decade with a heavy heart and a feeling of impending doom. When a citizen of the US is sucked into the system and many days later is not charged and "may" be in a different state, it scares me. Not saying it doesn't appear he made some bad choices, but concerned in general about the erosion of our rights.
Just a guess, but you were probably detained before the whole Homeland Security thing right? I think they use a new and slightly rigged calculator now. I could be wrong. Anyway, enough derail.
The PATRIOT act can be invoked any time there is a "threat to National security". PATRIOT (and FISA) are being used to combat things like on-line child predators, and very soon, will be used to combat street gangs and militias. Ronald Reagan has already called drugs the No. 1 threat to national security, so it's only a matter of time before they are able to invoke PATRIOT to fight drugs in the US. Folks, things are gonna get WAAAY worse. And believe me, there are FAR worse places than GITMO or Abu Grahib. But they wont need them. They have FTCs to house us.

Too bad the Federalies didn't have the BALLS they use on their Citizens when it comes to them dealing with the Mexican Cartel, wonder if they are in Bed togeather???
Ya THINK??? Christ, we're arming them and laundering thier money.........whats next????

Surprising that FDD is flat broke with no family/friends to help other than this blog. Bummer. Don't they have Public Defenders in federal court? If he's broke, shouldn't he qualify for one of those? Are the funds sent thru this website a loan, or is FDD expecting complete charity? Just curious.
