Help with Blackmail! big time!!

I had a guy that I know who belongs to a legit collective come out to my house and he says everything is cool as far as us being within the law. He has dealt with law enforcement many times. I just really would feel better if I knew who this blackmailer is cause I just don't know what other shit they will try to pull. Get what I'm saying? We will be keeping our eyes out for the vehicle.

As far as people saying we brought this on ourselves for growing outside, I do understand the point you are making. However, I know many people who do this and they have NEVER had anything like this happen to them. I don't exactly have my garden out in the open, I live in a rural area which means somebody is trespassing on my property.

Sorry I didn't come back to report sooner, but I'm tired and disgusted with the whole thing. I will be at work tonight.

Okay someone impersonates Feds and stuff what do you think they are going to do. The police use it as a PR improvement move. What a surprise. These are only cases in the news not all cases obviously. Good folks really in the system and stuck. Don't give people advice to call the cops on themselves. Even if it was voted legal tomorrow. It would probably be in limbo until it was voted legal a second time in CA. We seem to be a 2 out of 3 votes state on anything that is not overwhelmingly popular.

You say you are LEGAL so don’t do something illegal to protect your rights. Let the proper authorizes handle it, that’s why you pay taxes. This pathetic excuse for a “good neighbor” deserves to have the shit kicked out of him but that would only add to the severity of the situation. The authorities have respected your right to grow this wonderful plant so you should respect them and the smoking community as a whole by using legal means to resolve your problem. If you catch him on your property by all means protect yourself and your property but forget about trying to catch the guy, it’s amazing how quickly things can escalate beyond a person’s original intent. The national media would love a story about “drug crazed marijuana patients” beating a neighbor to death. Contact a licensed attorney and get some legitimate legal advice and let the law work for you. bongsmilie

Dude if this is being done legaly and you guys have scripts to do so. I would go over there politly and give him a warning saying that he is trying to extort you and it is illegal. Tell him you has every right to call the police if he thinks you are doing somthing wrong but now you have every right to show the police you are within the law and that he is trying to extort you based on the letter. You have nothing to worry about if it legal for medical.

To me this is a no-brainer let the police handle this you are the victim until you or one of your not so alert friends cross the line.
If you are a legal user/grower your entitled to protection under the law and can't be denied it if for some reason the police don't help you your next step would be a law suit against the police which would put you on a no touch list in other words the police couldn't hassle you without it looking like they were targeting you for the law suit.
Just don't be stupid, don't listen to anyone on here telling you to go out and kill the guy I would hope your not dumb enough to toss your life away on something like this.
To sum up your neighbor is a douche and a black mailer or extortionist and not a very good one in reading his note to you from the first page you need to look for an angry jealous bitter loud mouth who goes around feeling sorry for himself and blaming others for his own problems he's probably between 30-50 years of age, a drinker or reformed alchie with a superior attitude more than likely either divorced or in a bad marriage also he probably has a view of your property from his home either from a second story window or fence line also he probably doesn't take care of his property(lets the grass grow high and moes it rarely and is pissed off when he sees others taking care of their homes.
But that's just a guess on my part I probably watch too many tv mysteries when I'm stoned. :)

I realize that I'm probably too late on this... but I agree with the posters who said you should work within the law. The legality is the only thing this dip-shit has to blackmail you with. I'd pull a Letterman and talk to a lawyer. Many criminal defense attorneys offer low cost consultations (the one in my area will offer the 1st hrs legal advice for $20.)

If, for whatever reason, you have to break down & give him bud poison it first... You're outside the law at this point however, so it would also be time to bring in some "hard pipe hittin' mother fuckers."

Really and truly, from a legal standpoint, if he/she decided to rat you out, he/she would be in the hellfire along with you. You make sure to keep that letter in a safe place. Ziplock it up and put it away for the day that he/she goes bitch on you. When the authorities show up, you comply. Show them your papers and show them that letter. In the event you get fucked- legal scrips or not- he also gets fucked. You see, he/she probably doesnt have a legal reason for growing but by the verbiage in the letter, stands to benefit from your crop. If you are in fact illegal and he/she stands to benefit from your illegal activity, he/she is just as culpable as you are. A good lawyer can and will get you off with a slap on wrist while your slimy neighbor gets the shaft. Good luck

I just called a lawyer about it... hehe..... he said go to the cops.... I said Im over my limmit, he said doesn't matter go to the cops.... or do nothing...... Thats what a lawyer said.... take the letter to the cops or do nothing but make sure to keep the letter. There yah go..... seems FDD's advice added up to what a lawyer would advise. I asked why people are still getting locked up... he said they are either already criminals involved in other criminal activities.... or they are using MMJ as a cover for the illegal activities they already practice..... or they just didn't use their legal rights properly in court.... that simple.... your attitude suggests that even though you are legal, the cops will arrest you anyways just for being an ass... lol

You called an attorney with what someone posted here and they gave you some free legal advice over the phone. take that to court and you get what you deserve. I'm not going to argue the fact that no attorney worth their salt would give third hand legal advice thats worth a damn. Without knowing the whole situation. the fact that you maybe took it upon yourself to call a lawyer (if indeed you did) is a good thing. You should have maybe done that before ever offering any advice to the contrary. However there are so many variables and sides to the story that we just dont know. It seems foolhardy to involve law enforcement without an attorney on retainer or at least true consultation. So in the end you did/do agree with me that an attorney should have been the posters first step after deeming the threat credible.

dude.... my mom got a masters degree in law from Harvard..... no I don't agree with you.... First thing I would have done was called a deputy sheriff I know well (there are a few of them) and filed a report including submitting the letter to them and keeping a copy for myself..... as I hadn't done anything illegal, what do I need a lawyer for... read the guys posts he is under limit and legal...... I already know the law, apparently you don't.... and obviously you aren't aware that it is one of our civil duties to both know and understand the laws as well as live within them.

any person that is going to grow for themselves and especially for other people should have a consultation with a lawyer prior to.... that's just common sense.... you obviously didn't read my earlier post.

I explained the situation to the attorney as if it were my own situation... an attorney I have consulted a few times on certain occasions..... he knows my situation very well.... as does mom.... they both think your an idiot....

matching illegal activity with illegal activity is a no no

the first illegal activity being the letter..... the second being not going to the cops and doing something dumb like responding with violence or actually meeting the letters demands.....

Last season I was 4 plants over my limit when a deputy sheriff I didn't know entered my garden... it was the third or fourth thing I said to him after presenting my Binder of paperwork was "Im sorry I know I am over limit, look, it looks like these ones are going to die anyways"

He just shrugged and said it wasn't a big deal, and started going off on how the wind was bad in that area and how some strains don't tolerate that elevation very well

I have had a run in with CPS regarding my medical use because some one saw me smoking in front of my children..... they leave me alone too...... If you know WHAT CPS is (a federal program) you would understand..... Reagan's gone dude.... read some books
