help with flipping diy led rooms

i'd like to flip two rooms. Each room has 64 softly driven 3590's. Each room at 1704 watts and 14 amps.

i bought a typhon controller expecting it to be able to turn off the lights completely. they wont turn off unless i add more components. this seems a bit over my head so im thinking of getting an OG Flipbox instead.

the flipbox on a 20amp circuit should work, right? I know flips are for sharing a ballast for 2 hid rooms, but i dont see why it wont work.

All you need for the controller is a relay to turn it on and off. Check out my thread on/off mean well drivers for the relay or the outlet controller. Options. Peace

are you referring to the adafuit relay you linked? I believe it only allows for 12 amps.

thank you. i have many bars to build so two of these are perfect.

what wires plug into the powerswtchtail's +and -?
ill have the typhon's 5v leading to the driver's blue and white dimming wires. .Do i pigtail the dimming wires to the powerswitchtail?

That Powerswitch Tail is what you would plug the AC side of your drivers into. I can't say if the 5v will interface with the Powerswitch but it wouldn't accomplish dimming if that is what you would like to do. Powerswitch will let you turn on and off (no dimming) which is what I think you were looking for in the first place.

For automated dimming you would need to connect some device, like an Arduino, to each of your drivers. If you went that route I think you can have the drivers run down to 0%? That might serve your purpose.

Do you have each of your drivers wired AC side with their own wall plug? 1700w is a lot to run through one circuit. If you have it broken up you could just go with cheap mechanical timers that are sync'ed properly. Might be off by a minute or 2 but that won't cause harm.

Not sure what most think but I limit myself to 400w per fixture which allows for 3 comfortably on a 15a circuit.

still may go to no dimming on flip box and timer to max my watts. 1700watts and 14amps will be on a 20 amp gfic, but no more watts than an electric heater,right?

i still have a month to decide

i cannot wait to try flip panel cobbing...

OK. The Typhon has 5v PWM signals available to use for dimming. you need a beefcake relay to turn off/on completely like this one https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13815. You plug this between your live wire and plug the 5v pwm signal into the control circuit. You get 5v wall wart or power supply to drive the relay, and when you get below 10% the driver turns off. This is cool, is this like adding a breaker to your grow room without wiring everything up to your house relay? I dont have one, do I need one ? (Im on 240v)

I made a flip box for my DIY lights.

Cost me under 15 bucks and an hour of my time.

It is rated to handle 3000w per side (that is the max a UK mains socket is rated at, the relay controlling the flip is rated at 7000w)
