nice lady

here
http://www.amazon.com/Fortress-Security-Store-Wireless-Outdoor/dp/B00A1D90Q6
it is a independent system not connected to anything ........u can set it up to call out if something trips the alarm it will call up to 5 numbers and replay a set msg u put in

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-SmartCam-Wireless-Monitoring-Setting/dp/B00H8TAM8Q
this is a camera that u can use over a wifi system this will allow u to look in on your area from a cellphone or tablet .........it will also set up to a google account and record when any sound or movement triggers it

now u have choices of dog protection and ppl booby trapping
http://www.amazon.com/Bhut-Jolokia-Ghost-Powder-Very/dp/B004C9PTCE/
that stuff sprinkled around the area ........dogs noses will be wrecked they will not detect anything ever again ............the booby traping is just the same take some of this stuff mix it up and set it in a spray or watergun or even the powder alone

if they open up the door wrong it goes off in their face crippling them until u can get MILK on the face to stop the burning

the final thing u can do is something u only want to do if u own the house or area .........u set up a burn trap connect the door to a trigger and timer they open the door they have 5 mins to get to a set spot and turn the timer off ........if they do not turn the timer off a set of pipes open up release gas or something that will burn ........then u set up a spark and the whole thing burns nothing to take or use against u in court

I think one topic that doesn't come up enough is security.

A friend of mines home was recently broke into and I'm looking into some security ideas.

I know the best thing is people not knowing about your grow. But when your a legal caregiver for years with multiple patients, the word gets out.
I'm familiar with Casino security protocol/surveillance tactics but a lot doesn't apply to the home grower.

I like the idea of outdoor/indoor surveillance system for security from theft, and if something does go awry for your own safety from LEO's. Although I've heard the first thing they do is rip cameras down.

I know some of you have some good ideas.

One excellent trick my grandma used on the East Coast is to put a groove on the top side of the interior molding of all of the windows of The bottom floor of the house and glue a bunch of razor blades in the grooves because after all where's the first place your fingers end up grabbing as you climb through a window to get into someone's house

Unfortunately traps tend to backfire both legally and on yourself or someone other than your intended target. I wouldn't set any traps. None that can injure or kill at least.

How about a dye pack or something? I think I would get out of there if I were suddenly purple.

Sounds like a pretty ideal space actually. One of those places could produce an insane quantity of weed. Especially if they used the yard too. Every cell a different strain, a prison turns to paradise.
Security, power infrastructure, water, sewer, it's all there. What's not to love?

Still warehousing women... just a different genus... lol

How about fake decoy plants. And when grabbed, they emit that dye they use to mark money and thiefs. Set that fake tent up at the nearest point of entry. Or have some fun and put one outdoors if you have a real ripper problem. bongsmilie

Never thought of that. I am aloud to grow outdoors under strict provisions. Maybe a 4 plant grow outside or something to experiment with.

Except that it is letting everyone within visual/olfactory range know that you have something worth taking. Just going to entrap local derelicts, or at least attract attention.
Like I said under strict state provisions. It can't be visible from any neighboring properties and still has to be locked and secured access.

Just to remind everyone, I don't live in a horrible neighborhood or anything. Its actually quite safe. The odds of my home getting broke into (if I didn't grow) are slim to none. Its the people who hear about or know that make me cautious.

I think a lot of people know about peoples grows, they just don't realize it. Have you ever talked to a mailman? My buddy is friends with one and he can show you over a dozen grows on his route.

Every summer I go on a tour finding outdoor grow sites looking for exactly what to avoid doing myself. One block that is around forty houses I spotted at least five just by driving by. This doesn't include later in be season during stretch, those idiots who let those colas tower three plus feet above their fences are just plain silly.

New fences are a dead giveaway, old salvaged fences get less attention from me. Any bamboo fencing is like a neon sign, avoid that style of fencing being visible at all if possible from off property.

Buy a mastiff and steal a home security sign from somewhere and plant it in your yard.
