ok if your willing to help..... i've started a micro grow using 2 of them cfl energy saving lights. my box is 12"x15" and 24 inches tall. i have 10 seedlings growing in it and i was wondering is i should grow them all like 18 inchs tall and flower them or if its possible to just keap topping one of them untill next spring when it can go outside.... if i do that the plant would be more like a bush with like lots of tops right?

a 400w hps should be about 12-18 inches away from a well established plant, same with 400w mh,leds can be about 6 inches away from your plant.and cfls should be as close as possible with out touching .for seeds or clones with the 400w hps or mh it should be p to 30 inches away but id prefer usung cfls.

when you bud your plants are gonna grow another 40% roughly and you have to take into account the size of your pot and how far it has to be from your light and the light its self, for 2 ft id but them when there around 6-8 inches topping will help but you box isnt to wide either id go for one large main cola in a sea of green type set up.also if you want a decent yeild your gonna need to cram as many lights in their as possible.go for the higher wattage cfls.a great way to do this is get a surge protector 4 or five socket adapters from walmart and some good adhesive, plug the adapters into the surge protector, screw in your cfl bulbs, and use the adhesive to mount it inside your cabinet .if you plan on 5 females id try to run at least two of there set ups with a total of 8 -10 cfl bulbs, cheap as hell compared to the cfl grow lights and you can mount it where ever you want, and yes you could in essence you could keep topping the plant and feed it low light up until about a month before your planning on transplanting it outside.basicly making it hibernate until your reay to take it outside

hmm thats a good question and i wont bull shit you im not sure,i have a total of 5 tanks in my house and have never thought to do that,i assume it would be safe but the cost will come out to be about the same as hydroponic ph up and ph down ,and thats guaranteed to be safe for plants,

g,my light said it coveres 3x3 square feet.and yes it can be used for the whole thing .there was an issue of high times just out and skunk magazine, both did comparisons on a 90w ufo like mine against a 400w hps and the ufo produces 12% more than the hps and uses a fraction of the energy.most people do use hps ,there are a lot of old timers that will stick with mh but hps is more conventional and produces more bud.led in my opinion are better than all of the other lighting sources and use no energy, and produce no heat

Alright so I'm thinking I will go LEDs now. But where your light covers an area 3 by 3, where did you figure that out. I can't find that on any of the sites that sell them or anywhere else. I was looking at HTG and saw these 12'' by 12'' panels which I'm considering or a few spotlights? But how did you figure out how many you needed. And with LEDs I figure I'd just get the tri spectrum light. Is there an advantage of giving it a little extra blue or red boost depening on the stage?

Thanks

Just to clear it up I'm saying a UFO or 12 by 12 for full time. But what if you were to add a spotlight depending on the stage? And always keep LEDs 6 inchs away from the top?
These are the LED panels I was talking about, I just read a post that said the cheap ones are different than the UFO... Are mine the cheap ones and is this true?

I am a girl with not very strong arms or hands (with first crop). Can you recommend a cutting tool for buds that does not cost $1,000. I don't mind paying a decent amount of money for a tool that will save me time and that is suitable for a girl with not alot of strength. Thanks.

Hi there Im a newbie going on my second harverst. My first harverst all (8plants) came out with seeds I apparently had a hermi. For my second harvast I was very carefull to check for males and hermis bacause I used clones from the first plants. Second week into flowering I checked to see that I had no males or hermies to my understanding from all the pics and research I have seen here. I am in flushing stage and 3 of the 8 have seeds. I have inspected all closely and can not find the culprit in the bunch. No real male or hermie traits visible.

Is there such a thing as females that have seeds with out a male or hermi present?

the light came with specs that stated 3x3 i will put up a link for it for you,the panels and spot lights are crap and should only be used for starting seeds or cloning.htg makes a good 90w model and up,i want to upgrade to a larger wattage at some point in the future here but the 90w is more than enough for a smaller setup, yes i was told 6 inches away is safe and it provides the most light to the plant like with cfls.stick with the ufo or higher many people got these panels and had shit results..heres the link http://cgi.ebay.com/90w-Hydroponic-U...item3ef93baa63

ummm id say just a pair of good scissors would do.thats what i always have used.damn girl how much you planning on cutting down lol, they do sell a lot of great products for manicuring your buds but they are all pricey and tend to be heavy if lifting is one of your concerns .even though your a girl even the most petite little thing should be able to pull off a harvest, the grass its self doesn't weigh much, its just a pain in the ass to trim all the leaves your self unlike with the mechanical trimmers.in my opinion you would lose a lot of your crystals using one of these things as they usually implement some sort of a vacuum system to suck the trim inside,id try the scissors if thats difficult for you buy some pruning shears from your local walmart, they will cut even the thickest stems in my experience

no theres no way that could happen for the females to produce seeds, some type of pollen was introduced to your growing area.are you inside or out?did you take proper steps to ensure all the hermi pollen from your last crop was cleaned from your fans, venting ,lighting etc.even the smallest amount of pollen could have survived the clean up and caused this crop to be pollinated too.judging by the number of plants with seeds id say this is what happend if their was one plant that had turned into a hermi most of your plants would be showing seeds instead of just 3 or 4.a cool thing about this is that the seeds from your pollinated plants will produce all female seeds although their genes may be slightly mutated.the big seed companies use something called gerbilic acis to induce a male sex organ on a selected female of the highest quality, thus self pollinating the plant, inbreeding it and causing all resulting seeds to be mostly female with a few hermis to wean out.kinda cool if you ask me,it gives the home grower/breeder an easy way to have an all female crop with out clones,or spending a fortune on the technology.if you happen to be outside and in an area with either wild of industrial hemp farms the pollen from the hemp could have found its way to your plant.in holland they put the cannabis pollen count on the news because it is so widely cultivated it bothers many people like any other pollen would ,eventhough most of these people with allergies to hemp pollen can smoke it just fine the pollen acts as an allergen to their respiratory system.to spite this my dream is to have cannabis so widely cultivated that the cannabis pollen count will be on all of our local weather reports JOHNNY CHRONIC SEED

I want to grow around two ounces a month. I can't have my place smelling up. I've noticed some grows are so pungent that you can smell it from far away. I need decent bud that will satisfy without stinking, and an autoflower or forced flower? I'm going to need some sort of stealth system, and am wanting to make it totally automatic. I'm thinking of having a web cam monitor the plants. I will be using LED's or CFL's. I'm not sure about the LED's. Seen some for sale, and will have to go check them out first. I'm not sure how many lights I will need without being suspicious to the landlord or hydro company. I'm not sure if I should grow a potent plant, or a novelty plant. I also don't have experience with buy seeds online. Who is trusted. How do I know that the seed I get is the seed that was advertised? Should I clone from a mother, or just seed every new grow?

OK so last night we stumbled across these 2 clones in horible shape. the other few clones are doing wonderful BUT they also have little flower cola's these two have no flowers no buds no hairs.. I started adding a blooming nute and i beleive i used to much, so a possibity is that the flowering nute is fucking up my lowerless nodes, the fan leaves are looking good still. The othere possibility IS the organic bug spray i used but then again its only the 2 clones that show no sex. PLEASE HELP https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/265344-leds-soil-grow-ai-1024-a.html

1st time grower, got 6 plants under 600w hps and the looking sweet. Started flushing this week (week9) and nearly time to chop. Any advise on cutting down, trimming, drying and curing would be GREAT

hey,
In two weeks I will be starting my first grow. Im thinking about Sea Of Grean W/ 4 plants in each cycle. All organic soil. What light do you recomend to get a QP from each cycle. And for vegative state what is a good way to set up a box with multiple CFL lights.

i have a question i have a snow white growing now for about 2 months i had to force her into 12/12 from seed just lack of timing i have right now but so far she is flowering and only about 9 inches tall but she is very bush and the trichs are nice and white everyday it looks like the buds are getting bigger. I started the seeds in MG seed starter soil and she has been in their for the 2 months now also i have been feeding her flora nova 1 part grow 1 part bloom. Shes in a rubbermaid box 4 cfl dual spectrum lighting each bulb at 100w 1650 lumens each and about 4 to 5 inches away from the lighting. She recently started to get burn tips at the bottom fan leaves but i cut back on the nutes and she seems to be fine now. My question is should i not be worried about the hieght as of yet or should i do i need to change the soil need help....
