History of Chronic

Sadly, I was not smoking during the years when I first started hearing about Chronic. One dude told me it was a "one and you're done" experience... no one needs a second hit! So, forgive my ignorance, but is the Chronic I see on seed bank websites the same Chronic from back in the day? And is it really such an ass-kicking high?:dunce:

Chronic is my favorite strain all the time. Its very strong and have no ceiling of high....and the taste is wonderful but kinda harsh but you will fall in love with it :D

I would recommend to get some beans from Serious Seed. all of his gears are top notch.

happy gardening

I'd like to grow some Chronic, but first I gotta run through my supply of Super Haze, Northern Lights and some kinda Mexican seed I can't remember the name of. And then I'm going to start a coffee plantation.bongsmilie

IMO "Chronic" is a generic term for high quality marijuana buds. Back in the day, anything green (not brown) could safely be called "chronic".

What exact Haze and where did you get the seed?

I thought it was called Super Haze or Dutch Passion, but I checked the dispensary menu and they just call it Dutch Haze. I just found a few seed in an eighth and planted them for the hell of it.

I would admit that i have issue with this strain that Simon (serious seed breeder) just improved this strain after 2000, its more taste soft and somehow it toned the potent down a bit. I like the pre 2000 chronic verision. I dont know why he did it that...I used to get my favorite chronic from other fellow grower, he have the mother for long time. Now he just disappeared...i wish i have the clone. Now i cant find the chronic strain in my area...Kush strains are deep in here , you will smoke nothing but kush all the times.

Or you can hunt the pheno narrow down to get exact chronic...i agreed with other poster about bud looks like very bright green, not dark at all , thats classic chronic.

good luck.

from what i understand, Simon tried to improve upon the original Chronic in 2001 or 2 citing that the buds were not compact enough to his liking and yields were too small ... that's all the info i have on the Chronic....having said that Delicous Seeds- Fruity Chronic Juice contains the chronic genes .... and upon firsthand experience ...it was a fantastic plant to grow, however, the buds lacked density. Maybe that's pre 2000 chronic genes showing through??
