If smoked: Bad = coughing, lungs hurt, whatever damage comes from brief smoke inhalation.

Long term use may make you a little slow cognitively.


Good = Feel goods, antidepressant, sleep aid, pain relief, overall stress relief.

Been smoking daily for about 3 years now, used to get strep every year as a youngster, haven't had it in about...3 years, haven't had the flu or a flu shot in several years.......granted im the guy that works out 5-6 times a week so i dont feel bad about my vices/choices, but i see people around me get sick all the time, maybe its just bc they have their noses in the air about my habit :) i dont plan on quitting anytime soon, i forgot to mention my glorious sleep and well rested mornings not to mention the multiple @$$ whoopings which have been pre-emptively snuff out by the devil's lettuce...i say its been 100 years since prohibition, this is the new alcohol, get with the times big-brotherment!!

From a personal experience. I have been smoking daily for around 6 years now, even if I get sick (which is very rare but it does help with eating). I am 33 try to go to the gym 3-4 days a week, weigh in at 188 standing 5'11" with 11% body fat and I smoke a bowl after I lift every time. The two major things that effect me sometimes is wheezing at night if I don't smoke out of water for awhile. The worst is a delayed heart beat, almost like my heart skips a beat and catches up on the next one. I asked my doctor about it and he said a lot of people have that, even the ones that don't smoke. It is rare and I think is has to do with mold or heavy chems...again why it is great to grow your own. Other than that I have heard some crap about chemicals in the smoke but most studies (unbiased ones at least) will say it is basically harmless.

My own personal experience -- Bad things? Only that it may reduce your motivation to do things other than be high, while you're high (like doing homework or going to work on time). Good things? Wake up in the morning feeling fantastic, better sex (someone had to say it!), more relaxed, increased appetite, more creative thoughts, etc, etc, etc. To me, the benefits far outweigh the negatives. Just do it in moderation, and there's no reason that it will negatively affect any facets of your life. Oh, one more negative I thought of. MONEY -- paying for your herbs sucks. I've wasted more money on shitty weed than on anything else I can think of. So grow your own! I'm finally biting the bullet and doing it!

I smoked 3 times a day for a year! 6 bongs in the morning and 4 at lunch and 10 before dinner. the best time of my life ever. Got promoted twice in the year!

cannabis has NO effect whatsoever on cognitive function. there have been several studies that show this. perhaps you should do some reading?

i know this sounds a little ridiculous but i have been smoking all my life, first time i hit a bowl i was four or five. but i had gotten high before that through foods and being shotgunned a few times... i started smoking regularly at thirteen. i smoke every day to this day and i have no lung or other health issues whatsoever. i am contemplating busting a wad of cash on a decent vaporizer however because they feel much cleaner on your lungs. i work out twice a day every day and rarely miss it so motivation is intact. smoking after exercise is the best feeling ever, probably has to do with the endorphin high i guess.

if you only want to smoke three times a week only smoke three times a week. my mom only smokes right before she sleeps cause she doesn't sleep so well. just smoke what your comfortable with otherwise you risk ruining a great thing for yourself, be especially cautious about edibles the first couple times you try weed cause you can get really, really high.
 
for me weed has definetly outweighed any negatives attributed to it. Ive got slight A.D.D. but it was never high enough to get anything prescribed. I'm also just a nervous person when it comes to school work and things like that. Weed has helped me calm down so much and since I've gotten to college and been able to smoke whenever I want i find that I can concentrate on my scool work a lot better and longer, just not when i'm super stoned. But you really have to grow your own to make it cost effective, I cant even bear to think about how much money I've spent on weed the last semester

Lol if it slowed you "down cognitively" whatever that means ( cognitive ) being a broad word... Etc...and the speed of what thought processes being measured at being broad and extremely hard to measure....Its already ( just as a statement regardless of its truth ) difficult to understand/apply/say....But yeah terence mckenna was on da ball !!!! he was high most of the time - legend!
