how do you water cure properly

i have read different articles on water curing,some of them say to put fresh bud in the water and other ones say to use dried bud. Does anyone know the correct method.

You put fresh cut buds directly into water
to leach out the nutrients.
Change your water once (some say twice) daily being
careful not to disturb the soaking buds too much.
Be careful, after day five of the last water cure i did,
the buds started to fall apart. Up till that
point, they looked brilliant.
I'll never water cure again, didn't like the look, or taste.
