How many fans do I need?

OK, so I am building this insane grow box (which is my first cannabis grow ever).
It is in a CoolerMaster Haf X Full Tower. I´m gonna do a log when the case is ready for my first grow.

What I have done so far is that I have connected the four 200mm-ish fans to a 12v adapter.
I got one blowing in and one blowing out in the top, and one blowing in and one blowing out in the front.
(I know the top air should be where the outtake where, but there are some reason it had to be that way)
I have cleared out everything inside and used some black tape to keep the light out.

So I started to begin working on the carbon filters. I thought it was a little bit tricky, but I believe I managed something smart, I´m not sure it is enough carbon in it to clear all the air out! This way however is really easy, what I´m doing is that I´m just filling in carbon in the PC-cabinet, so I don´t need no equipment. So if you guys think that it will do the job, and that two 200mm fans are enough, I will simply remove the two others and isolate the light there instead of making light-traps and new stressful carbon filters :-)

So here is the picture of my carbon filter. Some places that aren´t covered in carbon. Will it work or still smell?

Ok, first of all, how many fans you will need, depends on the size of your space. For a full tower, I think that one for outtake (alone or with) another one for intake will be ok.. You should put your intake on the front and as low as you can. Your outtake on the back and high enough for the air to breeze over the dirt of your tray, or breeze on your plant.

As for the carbon filters, I've done the same thing, it didn't work. When it started smelling, the place just began smelling! Maybe something like a gel odour destroyer would help!

Also, don't open 2 threads for the same thing! Someone will answer anyways! Good luck, cheers!

It would be better to change your fan setup to two exit fans on top and two entry fans on the front. It will deal with any heat build up much better that way. Yes cfls get hot too and can make a very small box an oven very quickly. If you keep the entry fan on the top it will mainly just blow the heat back on your girls....not cool.

Oh and for your carbon filters if they dont work very well go buy some cheapo dryer sheets. Put about 3 sheets at a time in and should kill the smell for a day or two then change them out with new ones. Works pretty good but if it really starts to stink use more sheets
