Im just wondering if the electric company has a limit of power usage per month ,where they will think something is either wrong in the house or wrong with the meter, sort of like when the bank notifys about huge cash deposits, is 5000w plus ac units ,fans ,filters and all your household needs pushing it.Anyone no someone busted that wasnt ratted on or stealing power or smell ,carelessness, etc Any info or links on my questions would be great,Thanks again

Hi
Here in Canada people call the Electric manufacturer companies"hydro" simply because here in canada Water(Hydro) is the source of electrical power.

It depends on the size of your property. For one bedroom house you can use 1000 safely(nothing is absolutely safe here) ,for 2 bedroom about 1500 to 2000 watt. When Idecided to grow in my house .I changed almost all the incadescent bulbs of house with CFL and turned electrical heaters of the house (including Shoe drier that used towork almost all the winter )off. This gave methe chance to use1400 watt.In my surprise ,the next bill showed less electric consumption than before the grow.

I dont think they will call the cops as long as you pay your bill on time , all they want is your money they dont care what you do

the power company wont call the cops on u. the MOST they would do is send a tech from the company to your door to ask questions and check your meter to see what the problem could be. Of course if he notices something suspicious, he will notify the police but, simply tell them that you have a new salt water reef tank or a hot tub or a new business from home. unless your bill is absolutely ridiculous and/or you are missing payments, you wont have a problem.

Just dont miss any payments and I'd guess u could easily go 5,000W if u at the same time do some energy saving on other stuff in the house, little things: like some1 earlier on said he stopped using a shoe dryer or unplugging ur toaster and microwave, (who needs to tell the time offa ur microwave?) after using it, turning off ur TV (not stand-by), not keeping lights on in parts of the house not "used", air dry ur laundry instead of tumble dry...simply live a simpler life not using all those "convenient" household supplies that u really dont need.

If u wanna be real radical: unplug freezer and dont cook at home or cook over fire...LOL...and dont use comps or TV, read books...haha! xD

In Canada - It depends on which community that you live in and if the RCMP/local po-po participate in the 'collaborative program' with the hydro company......google BC Hydro and RCMP and you will see what I mean. BC Hydro's own web page details their program to combat drug houses. I was surprised - I thought that if the customer pays the bill, that they would be happy because they are making more money! Who knows though, maybe their program is more propaganda than enforcement, preying on the paranoid stoners.....

My first hydro bill after buying my 1000W was conspicuously higher and so far no police
I dont think that a hydro bill alone is enough for a warrant but enough to arouse suspicion to find grounds for a warrant.

In BC though I imagine that the cops wouldnt bother with small time growers, at least I hope not
