Man, I can't thank u enough! I truely appreciate the +rep... I was actually wondering about something myself... Last week, my status said 420 TIme/Stoner, but this week I noticed it only says Stoner/Stoner-is this a demotion-of-sorts, or was I actually promoted? Idk... Ive asked around, and noone knows... Perhaps u might know what happenned?

I don't rec digi's, as they r harder to diagnose, even for an electrician, as they DO run more efficiently, they have more things that can and do go bad, like diodes, and internal over-current devices that r hard, or impossible to fix... U cant go wrong with the magnetic type ballasts...

My main problem with magnetic ballasts vs digital is that they depreciate over time, so if you want to keep your max lumen output you gotta replace the entire ballast every couple of years.

Sure, but when the digi's burn up, u would have to replace those too... So, it can go either way... Therez pros and cons to be said for each one... For max lumens, u always gotta replace lamps after the textbook times, or if u r like me, u can just shoot em with a FLuke light meter, and see what they r actually putting out... So, itz all relative costs associated with growing, whichever way u go... It'll all pan out in the end, if yer makin good enuff money from yer labors and is ultimately up to the individual grower and their own abilities, as to which style they want to mess with... For my the old-ctyles r just easier to diagnose, and remedy, and also, come very cheap or free, since I usually have leftover HID kits and lamps after big jobs, and can just take em to the op... So, its all very relative... But, good point PJ...

Yea i found this lighting place with alot better selection just 4miles from my house so ill take a look there but why are these 400watt hps bulbs only 21 and others are alot more? do they break easier?
Unless I'm mistaken

The more expensive ones tend to be marketed toward gardeners so they try to focus more on the useable spectrum for plants while general purpose HID lights focus on the human visible spectrum. There is also a bit of markup because we like to use them.

My magnetic is great. The new digital screws with my FM reception. Cable is good tho.
