damn i look through 10 pages to see who has tried the pepper spray and if it worked for them,
but all i read was the same idiots crying. these are the same idiots who are in the other threads,
fighting with each other, about the same products lmfao..

then the mighty wash kid says he will not say another word but says many posts after =p..

and the strip kid thinks his solution will work for everyone, when he prolly has 1-5 plants in a small area. and no i dont care to check your journals.
LOL exactly SPot on Bravo !

How long does this thing take to work? I tried it yesterday, as a matter of fact I used 5 habaneros simmered it but about 25 minutes, sprayed em and they still kept walking around on the plants... So then I got mad and made a higher concentrate, I took about 8 habaneros simmered it for about 50 minutes and sprayed the sh*t out of them! Just checked them a few hours ago and they still are alive running around... So how long does this take to work? I am seriously considering getting Avamax instead... This is not working, plants are still really small like 5-10 inches long, I wanna get rid of this ASAP! Any info would help! Thanks!

Mighty Wash or Dragon juice or Liquid Ladybug if you are late in flower. If not neem oil rotated with rosemary extract spray and Organicide from Home depot.

I used a pound per gallon, but that was me.It helped but didn't kill them all? Then after a month of use, it seem to not hurt them any more??but my dick!!!I would wash my hands and it still would burn:-(after dealing with my burning dick two times, I switch to neem oil.

Is this method working for a lot of people?from what ive read doesnt look like it but if its sticky therre has to be a reason, im in deep. Ive had mmites for a couple weeks now and nothhing is working i first started to spray em with neem and it wasnt doing the trick so i went out and got some sns217(rosemary oil) and used that everyy couple days and it still wasnt doin the trick, yesterdayy i got some azamax and sprayed. Today when i looked it looks worse then iit did before i spray aza. Im starting to think i need kill and clean and sterlize room and start over(which i dont wana do)

hmm I might alternate neem and azamax treatments, if mites still there I will try pepper. I am so over dealing with these mites. maybe use fogger bomb.

How ripe do the peppers have to be? If I use green to orange pepper will they kill spider mites in the second n star? If I use fully ripe red peppers will they kill adults? What are the pesticide handler instruction? Should I were goggles so I don't get any in my eyes?

If ya got some multiple resistant spidermites whose parents and greatgrandparent before them have been to hell and back and our run of the mill pesticides don't work on them anymore, then the only sure way to fully eliminate spider mites is cull the plants and start a new after bleaching the grow area and cleaning everything up that might contain mites. They can hang out in cracks and underneath things for months. Cull all adult plants and start clones. Get good spray coverage (use spreader sticker) and use a systemic pesticide with the active ingredient bifenazate acaricide and/or ambamectin on said clones. Do this with 3 products. Rotate application between the 3. For instance, Week 1 use Floramite, week 2 use Avid, Week three spray multiple times with neem oil. The best way to ensure that the mites don't gain resistance. Then treat with azamax and neem after the initial rotation. Habanero will never kill spider mite eggs. Neither will neem oil. You will always have spider mites in your garden.

The biggest piece of advice I can give you. Is once you don't have em. Never wear clothe that were outside or in someone else garden near your plants. This is the best prevention.

no don't wast your money on that^^I did that too
I have not had success with pyrethrum bombs. The problem with neem is that it coats the stomata on the underside of the leaves and it make transpiration less efficient. So, if you are using it as your only measure against mites, not only are your plants going to suffer from the mite damage, but they are also going to suffer from the neem. And the neem doesn't even really work all that well. It has to come in contact and coat adult spider mites. The way spider mites take in oxygen is through their exoskeleton. The neem coats them and the suffocate. So it has to be applied every 5 days to kill the new adults. It has little to no effect on eggs. A spidermite can lay 200 eggs in 2 weeks. There are usually thousands of eggs before you figure out what is going on in a large garden. I'm rambling.

Hey, so I tried this a few days back and it did kill the spider mites, but now it's killing my plants? They're on day 19 I believe and developing their 4th nodes, but it seems to be growing very slowly than before the habanero spray. Figured maybe I saturated them too heavily? Am I supposed to mist away the habanero spray with clean water when I use it? Some of the leaf tips are drying out, curling up/down, and yellow on a few edges of the leaves and yellow/brown streaks/splotches on others. First noticed problems a couple hours after spraying. 1 leaf started drooping, 2 weaker plants were drooping (I had to toss out one), and the plants seem to start showing symptoms of the issues when parts of them turn dark green. Interestingly enough, it seems to be spreading to other leaves that were otherwise perfectly healthy and is only affecting the first and second nodes.

Sorry, don't know where my camera is; here's a crappy photoshop to show you what I mean:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you might have overwatered? Anything too concentrated can have a bad effect though. They will most likely recover.

I've been reading this thread and this pepper method seems worth a shot. Last night was 2 weeks into the 12/12 light schedule, and when I went to do an inspection, I discovered the infamous yellow dotting that inevitably means mites. I turned the leaf over and sure enough: mites! (I recently obtained clones from a friend; he said the clones were treated and mite free.) I have a bottle of Captain Jack's Deadbug, but I've read a number of anecdotes claiming only limited success. So I want to try this Calicleen, habanero-pepper method. My partner and I are going out to get the peppers right now. We will mix a batch up and apply in a few hours. I will post again indicating exactly what we did and what our success or failure was.

Many thanks to Calibuzz and everyone else for creating this thread! Lot's of good stuff in here. It's hard to understand, however, why people were attacking Calibuzz on the grounds that this is not their preferred method; that seems rather childish and irrational to me, but worst of all it needlessly clutters the thread and takes away from its usefulness.

....so we just mixed a batch up, and I must say, I have no clue why people find this method a "hassle" or whatever.
Here's what we just did.
1 gal tap water
1 lb + habenero peppers, destemmed
3 medium sized bunches of garlic (the whole cloves, unpeeled)
1.5 oz rosemary (fresh, organic, stems and all)
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tbsp (whole) cloves

We took the peppers and rosemary and cleaned them with vegetable wash (biokleen), and then with the garlic, pureed them in a food processor (30-45 seconds). We took this mix and dumped it in a big pot with 1 gal of water, added the cinnamon sticks and cloves. We are currently heating this mixture right now, being careful not to let it boil--we're trying to keep it at a constant sub-boiling temp. We'll do this for at least an hour. Afterwards, we are going to strain the mixture and let the strained liquid cool. Once cool we will add a few drops of Dr Bronners Castile Oil Magic Soap (lavender), put into spray bottles and spray the plants.

I should also note that while this was brewing I took each of the plants out and inspected each plant individually. To do this easily I used a small fluorescent light held underneath the plants leaves while I observed from above. When the light shines just right, it illuminates the leaves and allows you to instantly spot anything--mites, eggs, dirt specks, flies, chlorisis, anything whatsoever--that is on the underside of a leaf. (I learned this from Jewish rabbis who use this method when performing bug inspections in order to meet the Kosher standard: bugs on plants render them unKosher.) Each time I found a spec, I dabbed the spec, gently wiping the underside of the leaf, with a Q-tip dipped in pure rubbing alcohol.

As I said, I will report back with the results as they come in.
