Hydro Grow Leds posts $5000 Challenge to HID Growers!!!

This Cloudfare software they're using is a pain in the ass. I fail to see any reason they won't accept Tor connections, or need cookies enabled, unless they are narcs.

Anyone getting involved with this challenge better be prepared to produce good results. Cammie McKenzie has a reported history of "grassing out" unflattering customers to authorities. HydroGrowLED's response is that this was just one isolated incident involving a customer who allegedly scammed HGL out of lights. But, there were many other reports.

Icmag has taken HydroGrowLED and Lush Lighting as sponsors. There was a sticky announcing a light giveaway. Took about 10 months for them to give a light away during which there were unflattering posts about HGL and Cammie. Icmag deleted some. (The thread has been deleted. Evidently sponsorships buy a lot.). In that thread HGL argued "it was just one incident in which *we* were victims." But, a long-time icmag member posted (<<link) that there had been many (his words) other reports on icmag in the past, and that those posts had been purged.

Bottom line: Anyone who tries to claim the prize may want to be careful expressing disappointment about how the contest is administered.

Sorry for bringing this negativity to your thread. But, that's a serious consequence people should be aware of. Be careful.

It's hard to say. Cammie has engaged in so much dubious activity[1] and generated so much dislike among experienced growers that HGL may be the subject of retaliatory DDoS attacks.

Could also be a way to prevent credit-card fraud. Why HGL and not other light sellers? Cammie appears to have a persecution complex. Everyone's out to get her. People who screw others tend to view everyone else through the same lens they see themselves. I.e., everyone's capable of scheming and taking advantage. They take greater measures to protect themselves than the rest of us.

What's also plausible, however, is that acquiring real IP addresses is leverage for one of the dubious activity I mentioned in my prior post. They can't threaten someone who buys anonymously (ships to a friend).

[1] Cammie started a thread on RIU, pretending to be someone else, running down a Chinese manufacturer (which led to discovery of the manufacturer's version of the story): https://www.rollitup.org/t/chloroba-c2-led-grow-light.814198/

you know, every time I post something about my light or grows your there posting dispariging comments. did i do something to you? apologies if I did.....makes me wonder, have you ever had a bad experience with this company? do you know anyone or personally coresponded with anyone who had a bad experience with this light or company? what I can tell you from Actual experience with the company is that the customer service was second to none. when i posted a video with some deficiency issues, someone from the company took time out of their day to email with what the thought the problem was. and if that wasn't enough they sent out some SM-90 free of charge to help with a spider mite issue. what other company has done that.....in my thread someone asked if I was going to do a run using the SOL series I responded that I would love to, but couldn't afford it right then, Well guess what 3 days later I got another phone call from Hydro Grow asking if I would like a light for the excellent work I did on my grow, all they asked in return was permission to use my pictures and thread. Again, What other company does that? they didn't even insist that I post my new grow online ( which I haven't). not only that they GAVE me a time lapse camera for my last grow. and when the grow was finished they didn't ask for it back. I try to take everything at face value and all though you and others like you keep posting the same thing on the internet about the same incident all I have had is a MORE than stellar experience with this company. Besides that my plants love the light. never been happier....here is my time lapse grow from last month. honestly im glad you posted that stuff....AGAIN. I bet if you looked up every company in the world you will find something bad posted about them. EVERY COMPANY. but if im the ONLY person you can actually talk to about this company then it is two thumbs way up.

God i hope this doesn't take over this thread like it did my last. i am not cammie guys...

That's what I'm talking about... literally, in another thread. Nice job dude.

Bahahaha I know I can hit 3 lbs per 1000w light with my Chemdawg cut. You're telling me I'll hit 6?
That's not what LED promotors, fans, and sellers mean with doubling, it (supposedly) increases the gpw, but reducing the amount of watt, not by actually increasing the number of grams. At least... I have no idea how I would be able to fit twice as much bud in my (horizontal grow) space, just won't fit.

Not every time. But, I apologize. When people were considering the viability of the contest, I thought it worth mentioning the unusual risk with this company. The reports of "grassing out" are serious. It's something people should consider before getting into a squabble with the company (or, realizing that option is foreclosed even before starting a relationship that could lead to disagreement, such as a contest.). Full disclosure.

That's all I had to say. Cheers. I'm glad you like your light.

Okay, I see. So then I should be able to produce 2 lbs with one vertical 420w LED system? I just do not see it happening. But HGL is more than welcome to send a free light to try.

Yeah I doubt you could pull 2 pounds with that light, honestly if you broke 400 grams I would be seriously impressed, those LEDs do not have the best diodes in them and their efficiency is low.

I'm running led vs HID at the moment myself for my own curiousty. All pineapple Autoflowers. Half of the room 400 watt hps the other half a 357 magnum led. The hps is doing better in my opinion, but all are healthy.

Magnum does not compare to HGL. neither does dorm grow or pro grow. Not on the same level. I would love to check out your grow. Did you see my time lapse up there?

I agree..my magnum does the job but it's not all that great like I had expected to be. However I seen some members journal that yield excellent dank with it. Nice job on your time lapsed video btw.

lol I guess your right, I guess I do advertise a bit for them.....but they deserve it. I have spent money on other lights ( check my history) that didn't work. I wish somebody would told me about this company sooner.

I was referring to RIU's use of CloudFlare, not HydroGrow.

I am curious how much your electric bill is bigbud. In my area, electricity tops out at $.35 per kwh. That would be monstrous electic bill to power 2 1000w HPS plus fans and A/C.

Even one 600w HPS boosted my bill to over $600 a month. I am hoping my switch to a LED gets my utilities back in the $450 to $475 range.
