Why wouldnt his 75 need to be smogged and yours would?

And isnt a vehicle over 25 years old exempt from smog laws? or is it 1976 cutoff?
if it originally came with a catalitic convertor it has to pass pollution. 1974 is the cutoff in most states....

why aren't we pumping alaska to its fullest yet???

damn that would save us some money...:blsmoke:
I looked on the opec website not long ago and the US pumps a LOT of crude, were in the top 5 in the world. So, where does it go? China...they pay more for it than we do.

75 and earlier are smog exempt.:hump:

it looks pretty nice. i was going to put a new motor in mine then start on the suspension. this one is already done. if my front end fits in it then all i have to do is swap out the interior. then put in the motor of choice. call it finished.:blsmoke:75 GMC FULL SIZE JIMMY 6 INCH LIFT 35S ON IT PROJECT - $800

so i found this.......75 GMC FULL SIZE JIMMY 6 INCH LIFT 35S ON IT PROJECT - $800

everything it needs my truck has. everything my truck needed this one has rebuilt already. for the price he's asking i could drop a badass smog free motor in it and take all the good sh*t off mine to finish this one. i talked to him, now i just have to find a ride to go look at it. it's about an hour and half away.:hump:
I just replaced the engine in my 1985 chevy short bed pickup with GM Mr Goodwrench crate motor. 350 long block 260 hp and 300 lbs of torque. Before I put it in I changed cams, the cam that comes with it is mild. I used the comp cams 224/230 duration 477/480 lift cam w/ edelbrock air-gap intake and hooker headers. Total was $ 2100. Brand new motor and it WILL smoke the tires, has a cool cam sound. Best of all it's considered a factory replacement. With cam and intake and headers it's about 325 hp 340 lbs tq.

i can buy that one for $800 then dump the $7000 into that i was going to spend at a shop. do the work myself. and come out with one really nice truck.

FDD get the k5 man! those things are raw! especially for that price u can make it badass. i have a 94 chevy k1500, 9 inch lift on 38s with a 350 in it. 206k miles and no problems. took my cats off and runnin dual flowmaster deltaflow 40's. she screams.

If i had a choice for a new motor i would go with a zz383. 450 some odd horsepower out of a stroked from gm? thats what im sayin. but a 454 is nice, proven, just heavy. sucks yall got smog laws, aint gotta deal with it here.

take a $1000 and rebuild the motor in the truck, 30 over thats it.

then spend the rest on the car. your always going to want the truck. 4x4 is a must have.
