Great thread everyone.. I'm on the edge of getting my feet wet with some LEDs as well! It seems a lot of people on here like the Area51
http://a51led.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=181

I have been looking at the Kush innovations as well - any feedback?

http://shop.kushinnovations.com/KUSH-v8-Flower-LED-Grow-Light-Kushv8-Flower.htm
The Kush Innovation lights are rebranded Apollo LED's, made with mediocre parts, as listed on their website.
For roughly the same amount you can have an Area 51 light, made from top notch parts, and includes a lifetime warranty.
Area 51 > Kush Innovations

You handled that banana flap with style.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Bad Karma again.

For my part, I have been watching, and have seen the same sort of
question being asked. All I can say is that I appreciate the patience
and generosity here. If I drop $1000 on new lights, then I am going to
want to pass this gauntlet. :0)

How do I spread rep? I know my place, and I know my abilities, I'm a nube when it comes to canna and indoors but have a few years gardening and 10+ in construction/remodeling. I'm a quick learner, I took my grow offline, paranoia and whatnot. But I will have the results soon enough and I don't feel so paranoid since I got the only person who could screw this up for me moved out of my place with no knowledge of what was going on behind closet doors. I didn't mean any disrespect to bad karma, I'm just a smart ass and having fun with it.

I would but I had no clue what all that means. I have read thru the newbie stickies, did I miss something? I still have no clue how to actually give rep. Am I missing something so simple?

I bought the 300W LED from these guys. It's a bargain, great light for the money and essentially the same light as advancedledlights. Eshine is one of the largest LED manufacturers in China and design their own stuff. Their latest is the Grow Sun programmable series with remote control and 20W LED diodes:

Just got a coupon code from them and they said it can be shared so I'm passing it along: Use coupon code = BFRIDAY to save 7% on your entire order...

Just starting my first ever grow from seeds, 3 white widow, 3 aurora, 3 northern lights. Here are some shots of the 300W LED from AdvancedLEDgrow.com, great value for the money. It has 2 switches one for vegging and one for flowering. I only have the vegging switch on for my seedlings which are in rooter plugs under the rubbermaid cover.
Dude, let's compare our results. I just started a grow with an Area 51 SGS-160, which AdvancedLEDgrow says is comparable to your "300 watt" light panel. I just planted a seedling that I raised from seed, so our plants should be pretty close in maturity. Maybe you'll prove the experts wrong about AdvancedLEDgrow using inferior LEDs, etc. Let's find out.

Do you have a journal for this grow of yours? There's a link to mine in my signature.

Ok, how do I link a grow journal, etc. I'm 2 days in. You're a week or so ahead? Yours is $545 for 160W at Area 51 vs. $369 for the 300W at AdvancedLEDgrow?

You can go here: https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/

Then click the "Post New Thread" button. That's about it. Just start posting and send me the URL for your thread. Remember, if you post pictures here, you want to make sure they don't contain any GEOTAGS or any other metadata included. Otherwise, a lot of us post our pics on Photobucket.com and embed links to them in our posts (in between img ... /img tags). Then you don't need to worry about metadata being exposed here. (You can make your Photobucket pictures private.)

Yeah, I'm a little bit ahead of you, so we'll take that into account. I honestly want to see how well that less expensive LED panel works. I hope it does give you some decent bud. I've learned the hard way that cheaper isn't always cheaper in the long run... sometimes when you buy "cheap" you end up buying a better item after the "cheap" one breaks. Then it's really not so cheap.

BTW, I was able to buy my Area 51 wholesale with free shipping, so probably didn't pay any more than you did. Jeff at A51 gives deals to some people who promise to write grow journals.

1) Not all watts are created equal. 2) The 300w that you're selling is only 150-200w at the plug, not 300w. 3) You will need 500 actual watts PLUS of Eshine crap to equal what an A51/Apache/quality DIY LED will do at 100-150w. 4) Eshine is complete junk and is not the same as Advanced's lamps. Advanced has double the efficiency as Eshine.

Eraserhead, did you mean to say "AdvancedLED is complete junk and is not the same as Area 51's lamps. Area 51 has double the efficiency as Eshine"?

I thought I read on this thread that AdvancedLED was the same thing as Eshine.

His panel was probably designed to match up against the SGS-160, so I think it's a fair comparison to see which is the better product. Like you said, it probably runs at 200 watts or less, which is in the same ballpark as the SGS-160.

I think you have it backwards.... Advanced has been around a tick longer than the SGS, hell. Eshine is probably what motivated EH to build the SGS.. ha

Sure, Edge's Advanced light may "compare" to the SGS, or be in the same "footprint ballpark," wtf ever... but it's how many watts you're using to cover that footprint, and how well, that matters.

Not to even mention spectrum, build, reputability....

I just pulled 122.2g (1.25oz/sq.ft) from my first SGS run, and it was no fuckin fashion show... two different seeds (x1 @ 1.6oz the other at 2.7oz) and grown al' naturale.

A51 provides real feasible data to back their panels. You cant beat that. Umol footprints on their site say enough..

I have already purchased a 3x3' tent to expand, and I am teetering to see what I kind of pull I could get with TRIPLE the square feet and with ONLY 30w more... (and clones..)

I would be very interested to see comparisons or side by side's with the same genetics/methods. Anyone?

VVV didn't mean they were your inspiration by any means, meant bad products drove you insane. So I thought.

I meant exactly what I said. Eshines are junk. Advanced aren't so bad. They aren't they best, but I'd choose them over a Blackstar, HGL plus many others without a second thought. Eshine is nowhere near the quality. Eshine is a look-a-like replica with inferior parts.

Now, to be clear, http://www.advancedledgrow.com is not to be confused with http://www.advancedledlights.com/. Advanced LED Lights has been around for years, they are the ones I am talking about. Advanced LED Grow are no more than some guy capitalizing on Advanced's success and company name. They are not the same.

Real Advanced LEDs are not Eshine. Fake Advanced is.

Um, no.

Hello everyone, first post on the forum :-P
In the near future I will grow my own meds because im sick of getting this or that, possibly suppling cartels and whatnot.

I got a wardrobe where I will set up a tent, most possibly a DR60 or some ½ foot bigger (75cm), I think DR90 is going to be too big. The problem Im facing is that it is going to be a stealthy grow, which means I cant have obvious exhaust to ventilate my wardrobe where the tent sits in.

This means I most possibly cant run a HID and Im not really impressed by CFLs. This leaves me with LED as the "only" option(?), but they seem rather pricy at first look, since its a small-scalish grow.
What Im aiming for is around 80-100g dried per grow, with room to get better/higher yields.

What would you recommend for me? Ebay seems like a hit or miss, but an Apollo 200w panel goes for around 7-800$. Thats alot of cash, in my opinion for someone who is on the low scale of growing.

Cheers

In a small SEALED wardrobe you have to stay very low wattage............this is probably your only high quality option http://www.bonsaihero.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4&Itemid=4 best small wattage panel around , and you can keep the remote driver outside for less heat addition to the grow area. Growers have gotten close to 100 grams dry per panel...very skilled ones like hans;-) with soma-style beds over 130 grams per panel.

Almost sounds too good, thats 2g/w.

The wardrobe is probably 3x the size of the tent, but not "space to use" if you know what I mean. I can leave the door ajar except when I know people are coming over, but maybe thats not a real solution. Its about 68-70F in the wardrobe right now.

Ive looked at Vipars B2X2 100w, but thats maybe too much? I guess I can climb around 10F right? Didnt thought the panels produced that much heat, now led is the only way :P

Will have to look around and see if I can find a grow with hans panel thanks!

You are coming off as a spammer, not a "happy customer". You've posted that same link enough times already....

I am going to answer your question with a question:

Why would someone want to give who I'm assuming is you, middleman fees to buy what they can directly from Eshine for about 60% of the total cost you're charging?

Eraserhead, what about pricing? Who wants to pay ridiculous $$$ for LEDs? BMWs are very nice but some people are happy with Hyundai Elantras and Mazda 3s to get around. How are the Cidly's? How about the 20W LED bulbs in the 5th Generation EShine Grow Sun Series:

http://www.advancedledgrow.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=25

I'm looking to get a 2nd LED for flowering.
Now to actually answer your question, some people care about getting quality lamps and will pay a premium to get lamps with more efficient American LEDs and American customer service and American based lifetime warranty.

And why are you using Advanced's company name? Can't you come up with something that is not used by another company? Talk about poor business ethics....
