Hey, guys,

Total nub to growing cannabis here, so please be gentle. ;)

I'm moving to a place with a wonderfully perfect space for an indoor garden and have been wanting to do this for years, so I think it's time to hop in!

I have a huge space, but I want to start smaller (although it's still going to be quite large); I want to start with 100 sq ft, so 10'x10' more or less, although the dimensions can certainly be altered to some degree. I'll also be gardening in a tent. Yes, I know this will be lots of work, but I'm up for it!

I've been reading a TON about DIY LEDs, and I do eventually want to go that route. But in the mean time, I want to get prefabbed lights to get started. From what I've read here and elsewhere, it sounds like the big boys right now are Apache and Amare. I've been looking very seriously at the Amare 450s. My question is, if I were to pick up 5 or 6 of these guys, would that be enough coverage? I've seen plenty of folks with quite fantastic looking ladies using just one of these lights in a 4'x4' space, so it seems their claims about the footprint are right. But I've also seen plenty on here about basically wanting one COB (I've been looking at 3590s) per sq. ft. of garden. I plan on working my way up to that goal, but would 5 or 6 SolarECLIPSE 450s do the trick for the kind of square footage I'm looking at for now?

Thanks for any input!

This thread is really "if you are new to LED and want to be told by Amare fanboys to buy Amare, come here."

Seriously this thread is mostly 2 people just recommending an Amare product every time someone asks for input.
Asked about Amare specifically. Why, do you feel more qualified to answer his questions?

Well since your looking at Amare and apache I would recommend Mars hydro but I'm sure it would be saved in the big smo file. Yeah nice paint job and very blurple.

Or you could buy 750 worth of cobs and drivers and pay a grand for a housing like cuddles did. Then have the nerve to talk shit.

400 watt, quality, white or enhanced white LED should get you your pound off one plant. If you're a real good grower you could probably achieve this w/ a tight scrog, or well trained plant using 350 watts.
The light you choose really does make a difference. As well as environment, strain nutes, n skillz!
Thanks a helpful answer! Lol i knew patience was a virtue ✊

Sorry to butt in, but did grownorthern ever make a light for the U.S.? I did a grow with Galaxy grow 300w led and a 400w hid last year that turned out well. But was wondering if anything hot new and better was out. Current setup is ok just curious.
