For that size I would go with illumitex, passive cooling and good quality american built panel ..........plus it covers a large area for minimal watts

The bars they are using in that rocky mountain high video are not available till october illumtiex told me. They use (12) 5w diodes driven at around 4w each to make 50w per bar and they use 15 bar per 4x4, totally 750w. I tested it at the max yield show and it was doing about 850umol at roughly 12"...and was doing it all over the canopy, super even.
From what I can tell, heat and coverage, you could definitely run it at 12"-18" over the canopy and 850umols would be awesome and great for SOG. But RMH ran them at about 30" and that doesn't seem good or right. So I still question them a little till I see a normal person using them.
I found this pic on mags...always a head turning operation. This is the same grow as the video PSU posted above(rocky mountain high)

I have never seen any results of this grow yet though.

Looking to grow LED. Will have a tent, 3x3x6 and want to grow 4 autos in a 3.5 gal pots. Yield around 4/5 oz every 3 month. Dont mind dropping $500 on a light. Must be good quality, dont break in a year of use. What brands do you guys recommend?

Hey guys looking into lighting and Led is popping out to me. I'm a little iffy due to so many mixed results on led. I don't want to purchase one and have it die on me. I also don't want to break the bank for something that won't work. I am looking to grow in a gorilla grow ten which is 4x4x6'11 anywhere from 2-4 plants total. What would be a good suggestion?

Not trying to be a dick but he specifically states in the video that they are using the F3 spectra on the top shelf and that they contain 16 leds per module not 12.
so my link to the neosol fixture is what they are using..

bottom shelf is the X5 spectra(w/r) which is not available yet.....

Also ^^ 5w leds driven to 4w being PASSIVELY COOLED (like in the video ) doesn't make sense and would burn up fast.........you sure your talking about the illumitex fixtures???

I was told that each bar was 50w. Then took this(below) par video...then had to look at it and count the diodes and bars. I counted 12diodesx15bars(it's 16 I missed one), meaning it is 800w not 750w like I thought. The grower has it backwards or something like that...a little too stoned. Look at the picture and the viooe and count it yourself...16bar with 12diodes on each...and they are 50w each bar.

The F3 is their only spectrum they say is "good". They said "the F3 out performs the X5". I personally belive that it was to do with th nasa claims but whatever the reason...they don't support or use the X5 anymore...and will not in the future either.

My video from the show. I didn't have a tape measure so just did it by feel.

And yes 5w'ers driven that hard(4w) seemed weird...but there is a lot of space between them and the math says 4w. I do feel some heat below...but not hps.

OOPS, now I see why we are confused at each other friend >> http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Illumitex/AD446S-500F3/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMsuj5tdPuAIdzjE%2b%2bSw5C3gOmT2jxUXjrY= it's 16 leds per "module" @ 4w and 12 modules per fixture/bar which can be passively cooled. I was under the impression you meant 5w SINGLE leds like the CLW products and those definitely need active cooling:P (the Colorado grower in the video is correct, they are using the F3 16 diode module=same as neosol fixtures)

BTW did you get the chance to inspect the single bar neosol fixture?? thoughts about it?? looks like quality gear for side lighting like puff said ^^^

Thanks for the umol readings, damn I really like that neosol 300w fixture(i would buy it in a heart beat if I had the space) nice even readings across a large area! how many apache at200 fixtures do you think you'd need to completely cover the same area @ those umol #'s? 3 units??

^^^Gotcha

I didn't test the neosol cause I was all excited about the big thing. Plus they saw I had a AT name tag on and weren't super thrilled to chat so openly. So I moved quickly to get what I could and can only speculate about the rest. The big unit seems to be a bunch of eclipse's together basically. I was told by someone(not illumitex)and it says on illumitex site that the neosol's(300w) are only doing ~390umol. So I expected something around 500umols when I saw the big thing. But when I was told by illumitex that the big thing wasn't out till october, and it had this higher out put I figure this higher output is from an improved chip/module. So I am not 100% that the current neosol has this kind of output(yet).
I measured pretty close, yet they don't run them at that, so I an curious to see what the official recommended height and umol reading is.
I could be pretty wrong about the new/upgraded modules though. But that was my impressions/thoughts when I walked away and talked about it with others.

Long story short...
Someone normal needs to get one so we can see what all the hype and price is about. 1,2,3...not it.

^^^ gotcha:-) ........oh so your readings weren't from the three hundred watt Neosol, but the newer unreleased version.

Bummer because the #'s looked real good from that distance and the uniformity(minimal depreciation) from edge to edge is exciting IMO.

Did they say what fixtures/ sizes will be available.......? Or got accused of spying...lol

Well, it was a nice excuse to subscribe.

I love my 600W HPS.
