I will have the new pics up either friday, or saterday night. I wish I could get pics now but cam still on the fritz, I could use my webcam on my computer but I think it would be best to wait until this weekend. The royal kush is also female, it showed first signs of sex around three days ago. I gave the royal kush to my friend with a larger grow area, he said he will give me half the wet harvest, so I can dry and cure my way. To be honest he has more space and more light, I might end up with more bud off the royal kush harvest than the blue moonshine, especially since the royal kush is a high yeilder. Ok now about the blue moonshine, the big fan leaves are getting huge almost twice as big as my hand and the plant is only 21" tall. The buds are starting to fill in, and they are also very dence. The smell is still more on the chlorophyl side with a berry musk aftertone but seems to be getting more intense by the day. The white hairs are all over this plant, from the top of the buds all the way down the stems to the hydroton. When I look through x15 scope I can just barely start seeing clear crystals forming but they arent on the buds they are on the leaves attached to the buds, so maybe the thc works its way from the outside in. The blue moonshine has 18 main tops and lots of smaller branches, I am guessing my yeild with this blue moonshine will be on the lower side from the reviews I have read about DJ short blue moonshine. My yeild would be 83.4g if I get .3gpw, and if I manage to get .5gpw I would have 139g, I think it is possible to reach my goal of 85g, which just is over 3 oz. What do you guys think here at RIU, is it possible or impossible.

Today is Day 21 of flower for the BM and I am seeing a differance everyday now, I can see that the trichomes are starting to form quickly but are covering the outer leaf on the the buds before the buds themself. Everything is looking awsome, some of the hairs are starting to turn orange early but I think that is from when I nute burned her last week she stressed some.

just had a quick nose through, looking good!
i see you didnt bother with the ec/ppm meter thing, iv gone the same route as im lacking the funds and wanted to todo a small grow on a budget
hopefully my easy ryder goes the distance :)
im only just coming up to the end of the first week so not alot happening
unlike your beasts haha

You should see my beast now, I will most likely have pics up tonight around 9 or 10 eastern. I dont use ppm/ec meter at all, I test my ph that is all because I go 1/4 strength in the beggining, and I never top off my res I just let it almost get dry then mix of new batch of water with 1/4 strength nutes. THat way I dont end up giving them too high of a ppm, If I ever top off the res its with plain distilled water.

Lol yeh I only take ph and using half strength nutes at the beginning
Don't know when to take her to full strength but she's not a week old yet so a while longer haha
Using slightly filtered tap water if you can call it filtered its a single 10inch carbon filter so whether if does anything is debatable, but better than nothing I guess

You dont need any nutes yet at a week old, maybe at two weeks start 1/8 strength and see how she acts if the new growth starts turning yellow then she needs feeding, and if the new growth turns dark green almost purple then she doesnt need feeding yet. I reccommend going 1/4 strength around week 3 of veg and and 1/2 strength in week 4, and 3/4 strength in week 5. Most plants can't handle certain nutrients at full strength so most people stick to 3/4 strength all the way through like I am also doing. My plants are very dark green and healthy and have never had full strength nutrients givin to them.

Iv been using half strength since she was a root, always been a nice green
I'm using ionic grow and nitrozyme at the moment as it says to use at half strength from seedling
this is her as of 3 mins ago :)

Looks nice and healthy so far but this is only the start, she probably hasnt even started uptaking the nutrients yet. Sometimes plants will drink all the water in the res and leave the nutrients, and this causes you to have a high ppm this why I never top off my reservior with nutrients because you never know if she has been drinking water or the nutes. I have read that a plant feeds off itself for the first few weeks and then it starts searching for nutrients, so I wait until around 2.5 weeks to start feeding but thats just me. Im just sayin if you start seeing crispy tips and white looking dry spots on the leaves its probably nutrient burn and that means it doesnt need any feeding just water.

I also notice your leaves twisting up a bit, that also can mean that you are giving them too much fertilizer because when I nute burned my baby last week all the leaves twisted up on me and got real dark almost purple with little white burn spots, that went away though when I changed the res and lighten the dosage.

No need for pm I can just answer your question on here its fine, first I add up the actual watts of light I have and multiply by .3 because .3gpw is more likely with cfls than .5gpw which is more likely with HID. Some people have acheived .5gpw or more with cfls depending on growing conditions and strain, and some people have reached 2.0gpw with HID light, advanced nutrients, and a high yeilding strain. I have 278w of cfl so if I multiply by .3, I will end up with 83.3g roughly, and if I multiply 278 by .5, I will end up with 139g which is a big difference. So my harvest could be anywhere in between 60g-140g it all depends on how the plant is grown, what strain, and how close I keep my lights to the foliage. I am able to keep all of my cfls 1" away from the tops and by the next day the plants have grown up to 1/2" away and I have to adjust the lights daily.

oh i was just curious to the equation u used. it seems to me the smaller the space the more gpw u get. how bigs ur space?

My space is tiny 3ft tall x 1.5ft wide x 1ft deep, she is already really cramped in there. Yes that is a dry harvest weight, I hope to get somewhere between 3-4oz hopefully depending on the yeild of this strain, but from what I have read blue moonshine is a average yeilder.

All I have been using for flowering nutrients is Fox Farms Tiger bloom, Hygrozyme, Bush doctor sledghammer, and microbe brew. The Hygrozyme is an antibacterial for your water, and I am not sure if it works or not but I wouldnt take a chance and stop using it just in case. The bush doctor sledgehammer is to reduce salt buildup in your reservior, and micro brew is to grow beneficial microbes for your roots to thrive. I will start using botanicare sweet grape carboloader in the 5th week of flower instead of molasses just because its sticky and will possibly effect my air stones so I would rather not use the molasses.
