Dimensions are roughly 9" L x 3" W x 4" H - I am planning on bonsai-ing the two plants, possibly scrog if I can make something that looks decent lol. 18/6 for 30-45 days, and 12/12 until they're done

Also, I will proudly be using MG liquid plant foods for this entire grow - proving that it works haterz

Yup yup.. lol. I do plan on upgrading to a better light.. either a large CFL, or a small LED light

Yes I did, and every other system I've made so far >.< I think I'm going to make a DIY Bubbleponics thread here on RIU using Walmart as the store for supplies.. I mean.. who doesn't have a Walmart near 'em? Haha. Thank you Burakfle and RRain. +rep

Very nice man, love ur setups! U inspire me with ideas for my setup :)
I love DIY, so much cheaper than buying pre made stuff, and u get feeling of satisfaction knowing u made it yourself and it works so well :D
Excellent job dude! Keep it up yo!

For sure dude you're right.. I have made 6 systems out of random shit within the past month lol. All with improvements vs. the previous lol. It's deff a fun hobby, especially when you use 'em for growing weed hahaha. I'm really happy with how your plant turned out.. way quicker than mine, I have 104 days on this plant total.. soil = slow. I'm gonna make a scrog real quick lol.

Me :(
Probably one of the few things I hate about living in the UK. We B&q which is kindof similar but I have checked it out and we could do with a walmart or 'radioshack'. They sound great places to get growing equipment lol.

unfortunately the answer is no to all of them :( B&q is just a hardware store but still doesn't seem to have anywhere near as much stuff as wall mart which, if i'm correct, sells a lot more than just hardware?
I get by online, but would love to have radioshack and wall mart at my hand. I'm sure a wall mart would thrive in the UK, we have ASDA's (not sure if you know them?) which is a supermarket that's part of the wall mart corp. It doesn't really have any association with it though.

  • so these seeds started on the same day and the bubble ponic one is really taking off now. altho i do not see any roots coming out bottom..? its growing faster then the soil and way better. they are same strain and the bubble ponics already grew its 3 leaf fans and next set of leaves and the soil doesnt have a single set of 3 leaf fans the side leafs are barley coming out.

African violet works for sure. 6 days growth is shown in thos pics. and the one in soil came up same day as one in bubbleponics and its way bigger.
The girl i have now was triple that in 6 days using proper nutes. Not saying violet is bad/wrong/stupid nothing. just saying why settle for mids when you can have super nugs..

Edit: Also notice the slight nute burn on the tips of your baby's? .....African Violet

MG AV did some wierd stuff to my plant.. like odd burns on lower leaves, made leaves twist, and gave the plant a very light green shade.. guessing it was from lack of secondary nutes

For shits and grins once I get going I might do a all Miracle-Gro ghetto nute grow. Doing a little lookie louing on the interwebz I think I have a plan of attack as well. Here is a short list of liquid and water soluble MG ferts with NPK values.

Concentrate : 12-4-8
All Perp: 8-7-6
Bloom: 15-30-15
Rose: 18-24-16
Orchid: 30-10-10
African Violet: 7-7-7

I figure for a veg cycle you can use a combo of MG Orchid w/ Espom and Superthrive and then flower with MG Bloom w/ Epsom, Superthrive and possibly a generic unflavored TUMS for a kick of calcium.

In keeping with the ghetto wally-world nature of this you could also pick up pH stips and pH adjuster in the pet section in with the aquarium supplies.
