Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Still waiting on my card. Broke down and called yesterday, got through after about ten minutes, which wasn't too bad. Anyways, they told me I've been approved and the card should be here within ten days. Longer than I anticipated. Hopefully I'm on the tail end of that estimation. I didn't think to ask more specific "on which date" type questions because I was so thrilled to hear it was on the way. Will update when it arrives, and best of luck to those who are still waiting.

When did you submit your application?

Hello all! To those of us who are still waiting I just received word from the wellness doctor I went through to get my certification stated provisional cards will be emailed after 1/31. I really hope that’s the case!
He probably read it in the news. Based on the history of the way every aspect of this issue has been dealt with, I wouldn't trust anything I heard or read from anyone regarding access until it's actually in practice. The state hasn't followed the law to the letter yet, and that January date isn't in the law anyway.

Yep, emergency rules are in place for 150 days. We get to comment on them for 150 days while they are working.
The way this is working out we'll be lucky to have anything to comment on for 90 days because we have no idea what is being put into place. If they would at least tell us what they are proposing while they get everything running we could comment on problems (like charging opioids $10 per approval 4 times a year while charging chronic patients $100 a year for 1 approval every 3 years).

I applied on 10/18/2018. This was on-line and the state dinged my credit card the same day. I finally got impatient and called them for an update this morning. Took a few calls, but I finally got though. They told me I was approved yesterday, and it would be sent off tomorrow. I'm taking that it will be sent off to the PA printer at that time. Didn't ask them that, cause I was just happy to know it was finally approved. Will post again when I receive the card.

Sure looks like this 90 day thing is a reality. Big time bummer!

Sorry, didn’t proof read my reply ... I received email from Conny Moody, Deputy Director @ IDPH . Let me be more specific ... the email stated, They expect the OAPP and the provisional registration for persons applying for the medical cannabis program to be fully operational by Feb 1st.

I also heard this on WGN radio from the Sr.VP at Cresco Labs. (Well known multimillion dollar cannabis company) said he was on a conference call with IDPH and February 1st we should get emails!

Great so those of us that applied by snail mail that will be getting our cards in February will be dealing with increased demand and limited supply at the dispensaries! Long live the black market of edibles and vapes!

Wouldn't dispensaries and growers have thought of the same thing?
About mid-December my dispensary increased varieties and late December they were expanding the inside.

Day 77. No check cashed yet. Thinking 90 days is unlikely. Applied by mail, so provisional is likely out, too.
You're probably right that 90 days is unlikely. Mine was finally approved two days ago which was day 81 for me. If they send it off to the printer today (like they told me on the
phone), should get the card at the latest 95 days (two weeks print time). Hope it comes sooner than that, but it is what it is. I'll bet you yours will be approved early next week. GLTY, and please keep us updated on your application. Will post again upon receiving my card.

Shake is usually $100 but sometimes goes on sale for $80. As long as percentage is about 24% it will be great. Many times theirs keef all throughout. I usually just sample grams of flower since I only vape flower and prefer live resins, sugars etc. The prices for flower are pretty high compared to what most people pay on the market but knowing there's no pesticides and contaminants is worth the peace of mind. Also being able to choose exactly the strain you want when you want it makes it all worth it. Last night I had trouble falling asleep after working all day (digital industry). Brain was racing but a little bubba fett live wax knocked me out in 5-10 min. Usually would have been up hours.

Although prices are high and somewhat concerning the relief people get from various illnesses and conditions is unimaginable. The people just looking to get high off the highest percentage THC product will be disappointed in pricing.
